The in-school books I hated the most were probably..
Things Fall Apart, by .. something Achebe.. I probably spelled that wrong too. Sound of Waves, by some Japanese dude. A Tale of Two Cities, by Dickens.
The last one was simply excruciating to read until the very very end. =_= The first two were.. cultural diffusion gone wrong. =_=

Cultural diffusion gone wrong is Singapore in itself.
No seriously; we have poets making Singapore look oh-so-cynical, some attempting ambience, some trying to picture reality of amusing ends of extreme poverty.
Sometimes we overdo things.
And blame-the-government-phenomenon.

I'm sure every country has their share of horror stories. Anyway. Am currently reading Artemis Fowl: Time Paradox. My friend gave it to me for Christmas, bless her soul. She got me Lost Colony last year for something, hohoho. It's awesome, like all the other books, though the writing style is arguably more sophisticated. It did come out after Airman, which is more mature than Artemis Fowl. Artemis x Holly for the win. I always knew this would happen, hohohoho.

Yeah, Artemis x Holly for the win!
Eoin Colfer has a distinct writing style that can hold people with a attention span of 5 seconds like me.

But for me, strangely, only Harry Potter and Eragon has been able to keep me awake. Both are shitty to quite a number of people though.
And for all other books, however strong interest I have in the topic, I will definitely fall asleep somehow.

Both are shitty to quite a number of people though. Like me. =P I just think Harry is a stupid idiot. Ron too. Sirius was my favorite character and we all know what happened to him. Eragon was ok. Just a little slow.. straightforward... It just seemed like a turn by turn telling of events, and it doesn't fascinate me as much as Artemis Fowl.

Why not write original fiction? I write those all the time.
Though I currently have one random fan-fiction idea flying around my brain.
I would post them for the luls but... (1) They suck (2) I dunno where to post them

I don't want to post things on fanfiction.net. >_> I prefer putting it in a within a smaller community. That website is a little too lofty.. and sometimes people steal works...
Anyway. Books. I just picked up The Crucible, by Arthur Miller again. Depressing play if I ever saw one, Shakespeare excluded. The Salem witch trials were a really terrible time.
Offtopic: That time period inspired an RP character that I made for another RP.. XD
