Ah, an interesting one. Ayasaki Hayate was it. The 95th knight indeed, for him to escape loli-san.
"Since we have your name, you might as well recognise the contenders for your current position. Tsubasa here."
Now I feel more of a need to rope everyone in, seeing that he can clear us on a whim.
"And what would be the rules?"

Ayasaki Hayate - Owner, Machigai Tea House
Here was a decently down-to-earth one.
"The rules are very simple. In the Roundtable, you aren't allowed to attack on whim. That's illegal, because surprise attacks do not allow for accurate gauge of ability, and you're probably going to fail anyway, based on the level of your opponents.
"Also, surprise attacks tend to cause your opponents to react, which is not something very pleasant.
"Thus, if you want to fight someone in the Roundtable, first, having the person's attention, you announce your name and your intention in the following format:
My name is Ayasaki Hayate, 95th Knight, I want a ranked match."
Hayate smiled his smile again.
"If the opponent agrees, he will state his, her, or its name and rank, and will say 'I accept your offer.'"
Hayate realised he was still on the veranda. He made his way back to the bar.
"If you win, you take over the spot of that opponent on the chart. If you don't win, he keeps his spot. Simple enough."

Perhaps this Ayasaki Hayate was right.
In any case, it seemed as if this level of attack would not work on him.
But in the future she did see a ruined teahouse, and if not by a fight caused by her, then...?
Kyouko unclenched her fist and, almost meekly, sat down at the nearest chair, right next to the strange girl with wings and the other funny looking girl.
Perhaps they would be her targets instead...

Like what he deems it to be; simple enough. Yet..
"And do the defeated preserve their lives? Or after defeat..."
If that's so, all the more we need parties to protect ourselves.
"Also, is there a group system whereby..."
Tsubasa's right-topmost wing twitches. It wasn't so simple anymore.

Kamin was quite shocked at having met a Knight so quickly, but she quickly recovered.
Should have been expecting it anyway. I mean, a teahouse right at the entrance. With a bar. Needs someone to break up the fights and explain the rules and all.
Also, she had a question to ask.
"Where can I find this 90th ranked group? I really would like to meet them."

Ayasaki Hayate - Owner, Machigai Teahouse
Once again, questions. Exactly like the previous batch.
"It depends on your enemy and your own skill. If you, for example, go and challenge the 1st Demon Lord right now, he or she or it would kill you in an instant. Even if it's unintentional. So, as long as you don't make any big mistakes, it should be pretty much fine.
Also, the higher ranked people tend to have the ability to observe power levels, so they'll decline a match if they think it might kill someone."
He turned to the man sitting in the corner. "Excuse me, but would you like a drink?"
Back to the winged being. "As for the group system, it exists. But generally people don't like to share a single rank, the whole ego thing and all. the 90th Knight team is a unique case."
He paced off to the side, and came back with that warm smile on his face again.
"If you want to find them, search the armoury. They're there a lot. Unfortunately, one of the rules is that you cannot explicitly reveal the identity of any of the other ranked people."

Grouping together and gang banging our way up seems like a good idea. But for now, maybe we could take out some of the 90th knights one by one - If they aren't strong individually.
"Ahhh this is so vexi- oops. I mean, like does anyone want to form a group so we can make our way up together more easily?"
Tsubasa strains her wings, hoping for an answer that would turn out ideally for her.

"Hey, I wouldn't mind. Team's always good."
Kamin raised her hand.
Hmm, armoury. Maybe they've got some good guns.
But, first things first...
"Hayate, is there anywhere around here we can get lodging?"

Ayasaki Hayate - Owner, Machigai Tea House
"Actually, you can stay upstairs. Here, this staircase. I've got a few rooms, because people always need lodging. It's free, because it's mostly sponsored by the Demon Lord of Orlania. But of course, I can't say who it is."
Hayate showed the way upstairs.
"Don't disturb the guy in the corner room. He's tired."

Tsubasa floats up the staircase so as not the disturb the tired guy. Lethargy is starting to overcome her too.
So I guess dozing off with a 95th Knight here to maintain order would be fine...

Here.
Sierra opened her eyes. She was standing on the threshold of the tea house located near the port. Regarding this fact silently, she turned slowly and carefully to look at where she had been sitting before. It was within sight.
"You could have just told me where it was."
It would have ruined the atmosphere. The voices seemed to giggle, the sensation causing a tickling feeling in Sierra's mind.
Sierra feigned irritation, and then smiled lightly, to let the voices know that she had forgiven them.
She took a second to sweep her white-blue eyes across the tea house. She knew its interior structure from her old days of floating in her Undine form, so she needed only to take in the new faces. There were a plethora of different species... and even more personal stories.
There are two upstairs.
"Thank you." Sierra murmured. It didn't occur to her at all that no one else could hear the voices.
Before she entered, she quickly returned the thin layer of water surrounding her limbs and joints into her water pouch. While she doubted that anyone would be able to tell that she was an Undine, it didn't hurt to conceal the evidence--there was no telling how people would react to a magical spirit.
Sierra regretted her action even before performing it. The ground seemed to move before her eyes. She panicked for a brief second and stumbled over to the nearest table, holding on to it for dear life. Sitting was absolutely out of the question.
Some entrance.
Sierra grimaced.
You have time. You can join them when they depart. It's likely that everyone is going as a group.
"I see.." She replied, still gripping the table tightly.

The air around her stiffened. Someone had entered, and definitely was an entity. The atmosphere was moist; almost dampening.
Deliberate? It seemed not. Rather, the entity seemed to be leaking a little into the atmosphere uncontrollably. A leaking water tank that couldn't be drained.
I guess I would greet it then.

Wha...
fixedName sat there fixated.
Too many things were happening at once.
His organic component was getting muddled from the input of all its sensors.
Maybe I really should make friends
He started to doze off, tired from everything.

Someone not used to humanoid form I guess.
Stumbling people were always fun to watch when Tsubasa simply never stumbled by levitating just enough for that 1 inch chain to dangle another inch off the ground.
Clumsy as she is, the one leaking the dampening aura would be her.
Tsubasa resisted the urge to pat her overly-sensitive acrylic wings.

Still latched on to the table, Sierra both sensed and heard one of the two people come back downstairs. Movement stirred curiosity, and she chanced a glance up towards the stairs. A young, heterochromatic girl (in all senses of the word), floated down on wings. It seemed that she had the intention of greeting Sierra, seeing how she had only just drifted upstairs.
She is a pure creature from the celestial realm. She might be able to see through your human form.
Sierra had thought of that too, which explained the sudden attention that she was getting from this girl. However, several weeks ago, when she had been creating her body, she had found no way to conceal herself from the pure beings not part of the Earthly realm--seeing how Sierra's own magic came directly from the Earth.
She's staring at you. Sit down. Say something.
The awkward Undine moved slightly to sit... and buckled all the way to the ground. Resisting the urge to rebuke the sea for its less-than-helpful advice, she straightened up on the ground and looked up at the angel girl.
"Hello. I am Sierra Nark." She started, as if falling to the floor were a natural part of human conversation.
As a quick afterthought, she added, "Is everyone here headed towards the Round Table?"

She seems to know what I am hinting at. Very well.
Tsubasa took a step forward. Technically for her, that would be floating forward.
Still, she could use some help with maintaining a totally different body; but for her to be able to break all her falls through pure instinct by reaching out with her hands on reflex...
"Yes, I suppose everyone here is gathered down here for such a purpose. As such, the current situation would warrant us to work together."
"And also, my name is Tsubasa."
It's hard to maintain a stiff face....
Tsubasa wouldn't mind another manipulator of the elements. A larger party. A stronger group.
Afterall, it was almost certified that Sierra mean no menace; no, it wasn't even in her nature to threaten.
Tsubasa fluttered forward.

Ah I see, so the bartender was a knight. Interesting. I wonder, do others disguise themselves in that manner?
Well, well, it seems the heat has gotten to the others. Maybe, I should explore a little.
At least the tea is good.
I think I'll stay here for now, if just for the tea.

She relaxed. It didn't seem like Tsubasa was going to press the fact that Sierra wasn't a true physical being.
Still on the ground--afraid to stand on her own--she replied, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Tsubasa. I would like very much to accompany everyone to the Round Table. I will use all my spirit to help."
So you are here. What do you do now?
((OoC: Spirit = her "life," though it would only make sense to those people who know what she is.))

Spirit. Just as I thought. All the more helpful that she has dedicated herself to our group.
Tsubasa stretched her hand out to the still slightly dazed immaculate being on the floor.
This time, she was sure it brought her the colour of the sea.

Rules...it would very much be better if she didn't play by them.
Real enemies didn't walk up to your front and ask you nicely if you wished to duel with them.
And that part about higher levels refusing to duel those of a lower status...disappointing.
Whatever it was, her vision had shown a destroyed inn, and it would be. She had no intention of being thrown out of the competition based on wounds sustained.
She shut her eyes and went to sleep sitting on a chair, eternally on guard.

Kamin was not sure what had just happened.
One moment, she had been slowly climbing up the staircase behind Tsubasa, and the next she was at the bottom, having been knocked over by the very same person floating back down and greeting the newcomer who had made her entrance by falling on the floor.
But because of the spectacle, no one had noticed the other guy, who was sitting in the corner. Well, he was, of course, rather nondescript.
If not for the fact that blue eyes don't genetically come with black hair. And his skin, it's so white. Is he a vampire? He's like the antithesis of Tsubasa.
Kamin knew something was different about the person on the ground by the way she looked. It wasn't in her physical appearance, but a general sense that she somewhat had, a kind of undeveloped sixth sense. Perhaps it had something to do with her angel half.
And that little girl sure is a brat, going to sleep while all this is going on.
...What a mishmash of people.
Greeting the floored person with a gentle "Hi", Kamin proceeded to continue to haul her luggage up the stairs.

The unnoticed invert of two-halves was by the corner.
Tsubasa noted that he wasn't particularly spiteful or flaunting supposedly eerie aura of sorts.
And contrary to my nature, I don't hate him. As long as he doesn't go 'bwahaha' and all. Yet again, I'm so contrary.
Extroverted two-halves should have noticed. He isn't an exact opposite or negative. Interestingly too, we have 2 two-halves.
And both would share a similar world. But I suppose; the worst out of it for obvious reasons.
Lets pull some strings.

I think I'm getting the hang of this
fixedName recovered from the shock of data overload. And as if nothing much happened, he just studied the commotion.
I have to gather battle data soon if they are serious, not that much time left...
Trying his best to remain out of the spotlight, he took another bite out of the teacake while slowly processing the data he absorbed.

Then again, there's that suspiciously quiet one over there trying to collect data. But who has he to support alone. A team player like him should be well, in a team.
Tsubasa remained uncertain, waiting for responses.
If it goes well, I would be able to rope in enough support characters for us to go all out.
