Maria Holic / Maria+Holic.
My current obsession. Highly recommended. The comedy is so awesome. XD I think it's by the same company that made Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, just to get people interested.

I feel compelled to endorse Kämpfer as the best show of this season. (it should totally be named Camp-fer srsly) Sure, it's silly and fanservice-y and self-referential and absurd, and it's not a compelling watch like Higashi no Eden. Yet there's just something about it that's... AWESOME. (Could it be that the main character is Yoko?) (Or not.) As discussed by me and lumin, the watchability of an animu follows an inverse bell curve, with the x-axis being it's overall quality (or QUALITY) and the y-axis being its watchability. This explains why some animus, despite being downright horrible, are still watched and loved by many. (So Bad It's Good, in other words.) An example of this would be Code Geass R2, which was very much a trainwreck and yet beloved by many. Kämpfer falls into this category, possibly even lying on the negative side of the x-axis. Correspondingly, its watchability is >9000. Even if you don't buy into this theory, remember that Kämpfer is far from just another harem show. It's a MAGICAL GIRL FIGHTING LESBIAN/BISEXUAL GENDERBENDER HAREM show, and its producers are exploiting the potential of these genres to the fullest. Furthermore, the great degree of audience awareness within the show is refreshing (at least for now), and while it's true that we're no strangers to self-referential or 'meta' humor in our animus (SZS was a notable culprit last season), Kämpfer takes the trend to a different level. True, in some ways it's rather jarring to see it so blatantly (copious seiyu references), but there are a few points where the breaking of the fourth wall makes for much lulz in Kämpfer.(reproachful glance at the audience) [TBC, I'm busy watching abridged series]

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.
Considered by many to be the only series worth watching in the season, if only because everything else is woefully underhyped.
It's living up to expectations so far. I mean, how do you go wrong with a show about a girl who can replicate a hypersonic depleted uranium space cannon with her mind and a coin?

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun's probably one of the best, but there's also Darker than Black S2. Seitokai no Ichizon's good/bad relative to taste, and Kimi ni Todoke's long awaited anime adaptation's out. I'm waiting to see if kobato can do better (they had insert song in first epi O:) (On a side note, I think bakemonogatari's sales beat k-on's )

Gender bending where the boy turns into the girl = do not want. I'm not opposed to the other way around though. >_>
Book of Bantorra looks interesting, but I'm not planning on watching it just yet.
My friend loves Kimi no Todoke, even though she hates shoujo. But I'd rather read the manga than watch the anime.
Oh and Letter Bee. Same thing. My friend likes it, but I want to read the manga.

I think sound helps bring out the emotion Kimi ni Todoke conveys, so I'll stick to the anime for the time being. I'm spamming other shoujo manga instead :X

I feel overwhelmed by the number of shows that have to be watched. I have never felt like this before.
Is this a signal of my increasing alienation to the whole concept of watching anime? Despite my fanaticism of the past, where I pounced upon and devoured every episode of the shows I watched, I can't bring myself today to even finish K-ON!, or even just watch the second episode of Railgun. I just can't. I never finished Higashi no Eden either - my whole watching habit's just a half-baked thing as it is now.
I can finish a nine-hundred page, font-size-6 book in four days where my sis took a month, at one point putting down almost seven hours at once, and I can't bring myself to watch a series that would take less time than that. I think my habits are regressing.
