"We have arrived at your destination." The railcar stopped inside the building, at the Vehicle Arrival Station. The WaveForce fields deactivated, rendering the four inside completely mobile once again. The doors slid silently open, awaiting their departure.

Constantine was in awe of the array of destructive mechanisms around him. His own (dusty) MP5 paled in comparison. The selection was amazing. The weapons looked powerful. If only he could identify them...
"Excuse me, can I have a list of the available weapons and their prices?"
Ai commented.
"Sir, these would be a significant upgrade from your current weapon. I would encourage you to purchase them, if you actually had any money left."
So it was only look, and not touch here. Constantine shrugged.
"Oh well. Maybe Marisa will give me some cash when we're done with this."

Yuki slid out of the taxi and headed up to the counter, wondering why a quest for a world ending bomb was starting with the 'heroes' in question going shopping. Then he realised it was his decision to come here in the first place, and promptly stopped questioning his decisions. It would only bring unnecessary grief, in any case.
Pulling out the bag of dust from his pocket, Yuki handed it to one of the staff.
"I wonder if you could identify this."
If they could not, then they were stuck back at square one again, but more likely than not, this dust belonged to a weapon of some sort, and if it was weapons they were examining, there was no place better than New Technia. In fact, as long as they were doing things scientifically rather than magically, there was no reason why they should not be in New Technia.
And while he was doing this, he ignored the guns that were all around, knowing that he could not afford them anyway. Besides, he preferred fighting in melee.

Constantine decided to ignore the guns. He would probably not be able to buy them for quite some time. He reached into his toolkit and took out powdered sodium in oil, magnesium ribbon, a weird, clear sticky paste and a roll of paper.
He mixed some of the sticky paste with the powdered sodium. Then, he placed the magnesium ribbon over the paper, and layered the sodium paste over one side. He placed more paste on the other side. Cutting it into strips and rolling it back, he was left with a clear tape which would ignite if someone so much as brushed the sodium-layered side, producing a big flash due to the magnesium igniting, while being adhesive on both sides.
Perfect for a trap, if he needed one. Which would probably be sometime soon, seeing that they were so close to their objective.

The slightly-built Caucasian man behind the counter smiled as he took the bag of dust from the customer. It was probably nothing, like the five hundred before him who had brought dust for various reasons and which had turned out to be, well, dust, but he was running a service and he had a duty to fulfil.
He emptied a small amount of dust onto a small slide, and placed it under a small machine on the table. He looked through the viewfinder.
Instantly, his smile vanished.
He turned back to the customer. "This... this... this is unbelievable. I've never seen nanotechnology at this kind of level! Individual swarms of robots, each no more than a nanometre in length... Point-defense, from the style of assembly. Hold on, I'm getting a signal from the database... it shares a similar processor with another object brought here recently. Wait, don't tell me..."
He looked at the screen. His face fell even further than it already had.
"...There it is. The Empire of the Rising Sun. This technology belongs to them. Make what you want out of it."
He turned back to the group of mismatched travellers.
"I hope you can tell me exactly where and how you found this. What led to it? I've never seen anything under SatNet that can even scratch their units under point-defense systems, yet here you are... We've had a bit of trouble with them recently, and you've just brought us our greatest asset in the war against the Empire. Please, tell me more."

Yuki raised an eyebrow, waiting for the punchline to come. Three seconds later, he realised that there was not going to be a punchline and sighed. This was getting far more complicated than it needed to be. If he answered this question wrongly, he could very well be dragged into a war against the Empire of the Rising Sun, and that was a situation nobody could want to be in.
"We found it in Port Orlania, having fallen off a person that we were chasing for reasons I would rather not reveal for now. If you want to know how it was damaged, all I can say is that a witch was involved."
Still, Yuki thought, it made no sense for a random ninja-like person to drop nanomachines on the ground. There was no reason for them to be equipped with that kind of technology anyway, and considering he was a technology thief, this was no conclusive proof that the thief was from the Empire of the Sun.
They needed more than this, something much more.

Tsubasa liked observing. No one could distort her world view and the like when she was doing so.
Ninjas from the Rising Sun empire holding great technology; ancient meets modern and we get somewhere, right?
Tsubasa had to agree with her inference.

"Nanotech, huh? So it's not magic..."
The Empire of The Rising Sun sounded VERY much like the kind of thing a normal person would try to avoid. But Constantine wasn't a normal person.
"Technology, I think I can handle. Ai, try connecting with those things. Pass me their stats."
"Working on it, sir. You'll need to actually touch them for me to do anything. There's no guarantee of success, though."
Constantine reached out a hand and placed his finger on the dust. The Erans used powerful nanotechnology to enhance their swords and form their energy shields. Maybe he could bring back some of it. If he ever decided to return to Armoria. The place brought back bad memories, and the threat from Carnation was inscribed into his mind. He had never liked the government, but he hated the Erans even more for being the reason for his imprisonment.
Hopefully Ai could find something useful.

Sierra surveyed the scene before her with growing apprehension.. and confusion. First of all, she did not understand much that was going on. Second of all, she disliked being in the weapons shop.
I suppose the most important things I should remember are that the dust material is composed of "nanotechnology," and that the might be a war with the Empire of Rising Sun?[/b]
The Undine missed having spirits to talk to at times like this, when she really needed explanations. However, she kept silent, not wanting to hinder the others with her own ignorance. She figured that if she just followed them, she should be fine.
The spirits sent her sorrow. Of course. Wars resulted in large-scale destruction and consumption of natural resources. This was one thing that Sierra had to prevent.
Against something like this.. what can my magic do?[/b] She wondered, furrowing her brows in thought.

"A witch, eh... guess it's the magicians who have the last laugh again..." The man rubbed his chin slowly.
"I apologise, but we'd like to keep this for research purposes. Here's a small token sum in reparation for such an endeavour. The Government of New Technia is indebted to you."

"Yeah, you can have it. I think we got what we wanted out of this anyway."
Yuki grinned as he took the money, wondering what the heck he was supposed to do now that he was a millionaire. Well, probably distribute the cash fairly, but he would have to think about what exactly fairly meant, especially with the number of random tagalongs and stalkers that had not received an invitation.
Besides, with five million dollars, he could buy himself a Hammer of Dawn, which despite his disdain for guns in general, was horribly awesome. Who could resist the lure of an orbital death cannon? Certainly not a red blooded male like himself.
"Geh. Kamin, Sierra, is there anything you want to get?"

"Hey, I don't mind the SatNet guidance gun. That'd be something pretty awesome to have." Kamin shrugged nonchalantly.
"But that's if you two want to pool and get that, of course."

"I analysed the dust. Shouldn't I get something too?"
Constantine was annoyed. He had risked life and limb to contact the nanobots. If the point-defense systems had attacked...
Although he hadn't received much data, he had at least tried. Surely that counted for something?
[OoC: Am I allowed to duel?]

((OoC: I'm pretty sure your character can do whatever he wants, but if there is an infringement of the rules, the Guardians will surely intervene. Also, fyi, if you decide to start a fight in the area, I'd like a turn too. :v))
Sierra began shaking her head furiously as soon as she realized that Yuki was interested in spending the money on weapons. She had about as much interest in those things as she had in a lightning bolt. Barring that, she wasn't particularly fond of material goods in general. She had more than enough money to get by, and was not interested in accessorizing... unless there were rare magical artifacts to be had. If that was the case, then even tripling the money wouldn't be enough for such priceless items.
"I'm--I'm not interested in such barb--ah--weapons," Sierra stammered in her haste.
"Should you have any desires you wish to fulfill with such a sum, you may without my disapproval," she continued with poorly concealed disapproval.

((OoC: Point-defense nanobots don't attack. They defend. Like, throw up mini shields and stuff. If they had aggressive capabilities they'd be called point-strike nanobots.))
"Well, someone's not too happy about it." Kamin said quietly to herself.
"Oh, but the sniper... I'd really like that too... it seems so... nifty."

Random stalkers who go ignored don't get anything I expect.
Tsubasa twitched.
Oh well, though the money would be useful for magic training and more guns; graze and magic manipulation with a rifle of sorts would come in handy, right? Or maybe even ritual tools...

"Well..." Yuki murmured, slightly cowed by Sierra's sudden burst of general disapproval.
"Here, Kamin, Sierra, you can have a hundred thousand each for now. I'll hold on to the rest as the necessary funding for our journey. We'll decide how to split the rest, and who to split it with when we're sure we won't be needing the money."
Yuki nodded, figuring that this was the best way to handle the situation. A hundred thousand was enough to buy the sniper rifle, and it was hardly fair to give Kamin funds without offering the same to Sierra. As for how to deal with the rest, it was impossible to tell what they would have to do from here on, and cash was probably required.
"Buy whatever you want. I'm going ahead. It's time to meet the Empire."

Oh well. We shouldn't be frequenting this place anytime soon, yet money's always the issue, right?
Tsubasa decided going ahead with Yuki would be better than stoning.

"Wait... Yuki, I'll tag along. I'm much stronger than you, remember? And I'm a technological genius. I could be of some help."
Constantine decided not to waste his precious energy on Yuki. There were better targets and training to be had in the form of the Empire of The Rising Sun. More challenge there, and less chance of meddlesome Guardians intervening. If he had the time, he might duel Yuki. If Yuki made it out alive.
Constantine went through his inventory of skills mentally. He had a few attacks that would most likely cause severe damage to electrical systems, like his Overload Punch. That would certainly come in handy, more than fire, wind or light magic. Sierra would be able to short out anything that wasn't waterproof either, and would most likely be able to use her water to enhance his attacks.
"Hey, Sierra, you coming?"

"Oh well, here goes nothing then."
Kamin bought the sniper, and two hundred anti-materiel rounds to go with it.
"Whoo, nifty. Just the right weight, too!"

Sierra, humbly received the sum from Yuki, but did not spend it. She wouldn't be caught dead doing something like that (though she wasn't exactly "alive" in the human sense).
Everyone was done with their businesses here, at any rate.
"I shall be accompanying you."
Whether you want me to or not..[/b] She added mentally. No one else seemed to realize it, but she was painfully aware of her own ignorance and spiritual blindness. Am I being too unconfident?[/b]
Sierra twirled her finger, and fine thread of liquid appeared from the environment. Her natural abilities were fine... she just could not rely on the spirits. She sighed quietly, and returned the moisture to the air.
I suppose I can use this as a learning experience.[/b]

The man at the counter looked at the motley crew of travellers.
"So, you want to visit the Empire to collect information...?"
The chances of survival was close to nil. But there was no harm in trying.
"Alright then. Give me a moment."
The man punched a few buttons on his console, and another car zoomed in through the door.
"RRTS Unit 15, Governmental Vehicle at your service. Your destination has already been set. Please step in."
