Yellow glows[/u]
The shifted swiftly about in the water to avoid being trampled on as Kane moved about, crushing the remaining bugs and gluing their proboscises onto his armour, making him look slightly like a porcupine.
As they saw him completing his job and enjoying his victory, they immediately surrounded him. The yellow glow was more than just noticeable now, out of the blue, they shone brightly. Each like a powerful torchlight on their own, and together, it was almost as bright as just looking at the sun.
The whole sewage was illuminated. All the cracks along the pipes, the reflection off the watery-sludge, the shine of the exoskeleton of the dead flies could be seen. But at the same time, it was horribly blinding. Even under the eyelids, a normal human's eye would sting.
Slimey and slippery wormy-snake like creatures slowly coiled themselves around Kane's ankles so gently. They crept up to his thighs and slowly, started coiling around his waist. They all had multiple yellow bio-lights on the side of their bodies, shining with great light intensity.
Lady in white
She heaved a sigh of relief as she saw Kane emerge victorious over the flies. As he claimed his trophy, she too, did not realise the yellow glows moving about swiftly around them. Her magic faded away from his armour.
"You did well, alone, too." Her voice came from the four orbs as a reply to Kane.
Only when the yellow glows started getting into formation, did she sense the danger and urgency that something was about to happen.
"Kane! Belo.... - Arrrhhh!"
Her voice was cut off into a gasp as the blinding light swallowed Kane and her four magical orbs. She too, was unable too see in such a bright environment, however, her physical eyes were not damaged.
Oh no! What do we do now?!
She started to panic a little, not knowing what was going on down there.

There was a faint glowing.
Then a bright light.
Then it intensified almost to the point of making Kane squint.
Peering into the mass of light that had appeared at his feet, he could vaguely make out slithering forms sliding up his armor.
"Yet more heathen scum?!"
He yelled. The rage began building up again.
Ripping out a few more probiscuses from the bodies littered around, he proceeded to use them as levers, sticking them underneath the slithering masses and flicking them off his armor, while stomping on those attempting to climb up his leg.

Mutated worm/snakes/eels (totally undefinable)
They slithered about in the water swiftly, avoiding every attempt that Kane tried to squash them flat, and even if Kane did manage to squish a few, they remained flat for a little moment. Before re-inflating themselves with the surrounding watery-sludge and carried on slithering around.
Each time Kane tried to flick them off his armour, they stuck onto the proboscises instead. And in a flash, they were coiled onto his wrist and elbow from the proboscises. They were fast, way faster than Kane. And what's worse, heat seemed to be something that they are immune to.
Before long, there were too many creatures wrapped around his ankle and knees that Kane was unable to bend them anymore, at least until they were removed. The same was about to happen to his waist.
Gradually, their yellow light started to fade. However, a tinge of red light seemed to be beginning to emit from the bio-lights instead.
Lady in white
Being able to see again as the light faded slowly. She realised that Kane was in a huge mess, all being tangled up in the weird mutated creatures and what not.
It was a bad idea indeed, to explore that area...
She conjured out even more magical orbs again, sending them down to help Kane. In the meantime, the four orbs surrounding Kane propelled themselves into the mutated snake-like creatures that were coiled tightly around his knees.
However, the creatures were not much affected by her magic. Their red lights merely flickered a little, but their grip on Kane seemed to not weaken.
Oh no!!! I'll just have to save Kane for now first!!
"Kane! Try to get out of there now! I'll cave them in!"
Her voice came from above Kane as the newly formed magical orbs made their way to Kane.
Turning back to the man in the scorpion without knowing what was going on, she exclaimed to him in a firm voice:
"Contact Hayate! Yagami Hayate! Now! Inform her to come here as soon as possible!!"
Hayate is the only hope we have left... To rid of this horrid post-war zone and its creatures...

The slippery buggers were becoming a problem.
"Kane! Try to get out of there now! I'll cave them in!"
"I am sorry, Sister. Devotion to duty and my love for the Emperor makes retreat a heinous crime."
Instead, Kane stood his ground.
He prayed to the Emperor for guidance...
Mighty Emperor of Man, I pray to thee. Will you grant upon me strength, endurance, and clarity of mind in this dark hour? Will you grant me the ability to destroy these creatures in your name? If that is so, let me be filled with your holy essence!
... And the Emperor responded.
Kane was filled with more rage than he had ever experienced, felt more strength than he had ever wielded, and possessed more endurance that he could have ever imagined.
The voice of the Emperor spoke through him.
"I am the sole descendant Of the fire and the rage I was wrought upon the earth To rule and battle wage!"
A great shudder ran through his armor, the machine spirit acknowledging the presence of the Emperor.
"By the total domination Of worlds in my command By the air and the water By the fire and the land!"
The workings of the immediate elements around Kane suddenly became clear.
I thank you, mighty Emperor. Though I am undeserving of your blessing, you have still gifted it upon me.
He raised his flagstaff, it now shone golden, like the rest of his armor.
"You will hear! And you will listen! The power of the Emperor of Mankind himself courses through me as of now! Unbridled power rests in my hands, and your doom is no doubt assured!"
RAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
He roared as he SMASH!ed the mass of worms with his flagstaff, aiming for weaknesses in their formation.
[[OoC: The Emperor has granted Kane his blessing, granting him greatly enhanced stats. This is not permanent (obviously) and will run out once the battle is over. (don't worry a blessing isn't granted everytime someone asks xD)]]

"You got it."
The Coalition of Ordered Governments might have horrible red tape, but at least when it came to emergency relay they were efficient.
"Head Office, give me a hotink to the TSAB. Red Priority, double time. Call for Yagami Hayate Emergency Transfer, coordinates E21523448432545469:N325049675781234696. Request from Takamachi Nanoha."

Yagami Hayate[/u]
Hayate was still on board one of the TSAB ships when she received an emergency message from Nanoha.
"Lieutenant Colonel Yagami! You have a message from Captain Nanoha! She request for your immediate assistance at... Erm... Hold on a minute..."
A visual had appeared beside her as she was walking to her room. The operator struggled to translate the coordinates received into the name of the location.
"New Manhattan! In the propverse! Where you and captains Fate and Nanoha were sent to investigate!"
"Got it. Thanks for the information. Keep up the good work!"
Hayate encouraged the operator as she made a dash to the portal. On the way, she raised her hand to the empty space before her, and a visual panel appeared before her.
"Rein! Come to the portal now!"
She spoke to it, as Rein's face appeared in the panel and replied:
"Oh? Yes Hayate~!"
Just as she stopped before the portal, Rein came zooming to her side.
"Now, shall we go help Nanoha then?"
"Hai~!"
With Rein sitting on her shoulder, Hayate stepped into the portal.
May I know your destination?
"Propverse. New Manhattan~" Rein chirped.
Takamachi Nanoha[/u]
She was awed as she saw Kane's armour become gold. It was as if Kane and the mutated creatures were competing who were more bright and shiny. But she had no time to waste. It was essential that she had to help to get Kane out of this sticky situation before it got worse. Hopefully, Hayate would come at the right time and help to tie up the loose ends.
"Kane! It is nearly impossible for you to defeat all these creatures alone! Just look at their sheer number!"
This time, she had sent one of her magical orbs on a scouting mission. Throughout the sewers, there were such yellow glows at the surface of the water. Whats worse, they seem to be simply materialising from the watery-sludge itself. Their numbers around Kane were doubling withing minutes.
My magic is not very useful against them... They can't be smashed with rubble... What now?!
She seemed to be left without any options at all. Her magical orbs only seemed to tickle the creatures. She had no way to lay a direct, powerful hit on them, unless she destroyed the whole building and may risk injuring Kane badly too.
Converting the her magical net back into magical orbs, they went about "tickling" the creatures the best that they can.
Mutated creatures[/u]
With every blow laid down on them by Kane, some of them turned to pan-cakes and flopped off him. However, with every creature brought down, it seemed like two more have crept up onto him.
With their endless source of energy just underneath them, they are unstoppable. Their numbers will just keep increasing. That is, until their brain is destroyed.
The red glows on their bodies shone greatly, and static could slowly be heard coming from all over the creatures on Kane. With a sharp increase in the red lights, they all readied to send mega-volts right into Kane, through his metal casing.

Kane smashed and smashed and smashed, but yet more worms appeared out of the muck.
"RAAAAGH!"
Kane... You are merely beating at the tentacles of a hydra... To truly destroy this menace, you must beat at the core.
The Emperor's thoughts invigorated him.
"Yes! Emperor! Your words of wisdom have shown me the path!"
Even as the worms restricted his movement, Kane tried the best he could to step out of the muck and onto drier land.
He could feel the Emperor's might within him, and he started to sprint, deeper into the sewers, the Emperor his only guidance.
Remember, Kane. Find the core...
"I will! For the Emperor!"
Destroy it.

Yagami Hayate[/u]
Hayate materailised in the skies high above Nanoha.
"Blessed wind, Reinforce! Set up!"
Hayate was now in her armour instead of her usual TSAB uniform. Donning a white balmoral, a white, long-sleeved half jacket and black waist attached cape fluttered in the wind as she flew down towards Nanoha, holding a long staff in her right hand, with a cross on its head, and a circle within the cross, not exceeding its four "arms". In her left hand, is a book with an emblem, exactly the same as the head of her staff.
"Rein!"
Rein then glowed white and become similar to a shiny white orb. She then fused into Hayate. Hayate's hair then turned from a gentle shade of brown into blondish-khaki colour, her eyes became frosty blue from a deep shade of blue.
"Nanohaaa!!"
She called out to Nanoha as she stopped right beside Nanoha.
Takamachi Nanoha[/u]
Nanoha watched in pain as she saw Kane struggling to get away from the mutated creatures.
Something was not right about these creatures... Why are there so many of them? That's when she noticed, as her magical orb proceeded down the sewers, the "population density" of these slimy creatures increased.
They must be all coming from a single thing! Hmm...
She stopped her almost useless attacks against the creatures on Kane. Instead, she sent them on more scouting missions; Area Search.
"Kane! Try to get to the intersection ahead! Turn left from there!"
"Nanohaaa!!"
Hayate's voice reached her.
"Hayate! Oh, you came just in time!"
Nanoha then explained the situation to Hayate...
Mutated Hydra[/u]
As Kane forced his body against their bindings, some of them over-stretched themselves in order to try and prevent that. However, they snapped into two and flopped off him.
The remaining ones on Kane had finally finished charging up their static electricity. The red glows flashed brightly and immediately, their voltages amounting to at least two lightning strikes were released at Kane.
A low growl could be heard from the heart of the sewers, echoing off the walls and vibrating the watery-sludge. Huge ripples on the water surface could be seen coming from a distant place within the sewers.

"GRAAAAGH!!"
The electrical surge coursed through him, his HUD flashed and died.
Luckily, the armor's inbuilt system was smarter than that. By turning off all power within the suit, it could better withstand such high voltages.
Smoke arose from Kane's armor in wisps.
Do not worry, Kane. For I am with you.
The Emperor's voice echoed in his head.
Kane straightened up again, the power armour slowly regaining strength.
"Not even the power of a thousand lightning bolts can stop me, for the Emperor bolsters me with his presence."
He held his standard before him in respect, tilting his head downward, even as the worms continued pulsating on his armor.
I have within me the ability to control elements, Kane, use these powers wisely.
A strange, unknown force sprang to life within him, and he saw how the worms were channeling the energy.
It was from the muck itself!
"Electricity has a negative charge, and so in order to negate it, I will require a positive charge."
That is correct, Kane.
Kane erected a crude positively charged field about him, and then continued to run, taking care to avoid the muck as much as possible.
Why have I not abandoned you, even as I have banished you? That is because you have not abandoned me, even in your exile, you continue to fight in my name, where others would have turned to Chaos or simply gave up altogether.
"I am honored, mighty Emperor."
Indeed you will be... Continue in your valorous service, and you will be rewarded.
"FOR THE EMPEROR!"

Takamachi Nanoha[/u]
Having finally explained the situation fully to Hayate, she took in a few deep breaths of air, as she continued with her Area Search for the core of the hydra.
In her mind, she could picture a map of the sewers that she had explored with her magic so far. Even though it was not very large, the picture looked very much like a maze, as if to prevent infiltrations from the sewers to actually happen; it was indeed tough to locate any building on ground level through the sewers.
"Kane! You do have high resistance to magic right? Hayate is going to assist you..."
Her voice came from a single orb that remained beside Kane.
Yagami Hayate[/u]
Hayate, having been told the full story, knew exactly what to do.
She carried on where Nanoha had left off:
"I'll be using a S-Class magic spell, that would deep freeze the entire area. It should help to minimize those creatures hindering you!"
She flew higher up a little, and a large, ancient Belka triangle grew from beneath her feet.
She raised up the bulky brown book with her left hand in front of her. It opened on its own and the pages flipped rapidly, stopping at the page where the spell was written.
"Kono shroi yuki no ou, gin no tsubasa mo te... Gankan no daichi o... HAPUGINKU SOME YO!!!"
(OoC: <translation of the above> "Ruler of the white snow, with silver wings... Turn all the earth in sight... INTO ICE!!!" </translation of the above>)
As she read out the spell, four white cubes grew from above her. They rotated slowly in a continuous random motion on the spot, growing to about the size of a football, shrinking slightly, and then growing again. The skies darkened slightly, and the clouds seemed to have suddenly grown thicker.
(OoC: the spell is not complete, YET)
Mutated hydra[/u]
Finishing their shock on Kane, they all released their hold on Kane and fell off. However, even more came up onto him almost instantly.
This time, they were more prepared, with most of them glowing rather bright red already. They unleashed their electrifying attack once again, but it resulted in only large sparks being formed all around and they simply flopped off.
The positive charge from Kane's armour was too great for them to negate. However, this positive charge also attracted its opposite; negative charge. More of these creatures could locate Kane quickly, without even wondering around aimlessly as they had no eyes, only hoping to touch Kane's armour before climbing onto it.
They easily reached out of the watery sludge with their long bodies, leaving their tails still in the muck. More and more of the creatures piled up onto him, continuously draining the positive charge from his armour as each wave of creatures crept onto and flopped off him rapidly, retreating into the sludge to recover their energy.
The ripples in the watery sludge grew larger and became more rapid as well.

More and more worms made their way out of the sludge to assault Kane, but he was unwavering, unfazed.
The positively charged energy barrier, however, was already showing signs of faltering.
Then he had an idea.
He refreshed the field around him negatively, he also charged his flagstaff with a negative charge, then held it before him.
The idea was that the already saturated worms in the muck before him would be forced away due to the repulsion between like charges.
Good thinking, Kane. But even I do not know how such an alien species to the Empire would react.
"Surely they will scrape in fear of your might, and beg for forgiveness!"
If only it were so simple, Kane. You have much to learn, beyond blind zealotry.
"With your teachings, I am sure that I will be able to, mighty One."
With that, he held his flagstaff before him like a lance and charged once more.
"WHOEVER CONTROLS THESE WORTHLESS MAGGOTS, I COME! AND YOU WILL FACE THE MIGHT OF THE EMPEROR!"

"It is... Over?"
Kane stood on the train platform, his memory was haphazard, the last battle felt like it had passed in mere seconds.
A large cargo train screeched to a halt at the station, it's array of signal lights displaying "TO NEW TECHNIA" in bold lettering.
Just then, the station master approached him, rather cautiously, though.
"I've had a chat with the train operator and he says you can go onboard, heard there's a bunch of highly skilled combatants in New Technia, and the head honcho here thought you could go and get yourself acquainted with them."
"Acknowledged. Send my thanks to him, if you will."
Heavy doors on the carriages slid open, revealing dark shapes within, crates, machine parts, and whatnot. Forklifts advanced from the train station, some removing items, others adding.
When they were done, Kane climbed aboard.
Kane, I have left a reward for you in one of the corners of this carriage, in acknowledgment of your victory.
Kane looked about and spotted a slightly longer than two metres object leaning on the wall of the carriage.
As he picked it up, the light shining from beyond the still open carriage door fell on it, revealing a winged skull... Ornate grip... And string of teeth.
Not just any chainsword, a blessed chainsword.
Filled with elation, Kane knelt on one knee before the weapon, his head bowed in respect.
"Before me stands a weapon, Sanctioned by the Emperor himself. He has granted me pardon, I am an instrument of His will. Once more, unto the breach, My endless cry, fright our enemy. No foe, out of his reach, Heathens all, suffer humiliating defeat."
His modified prayer complete, Kane lay down in the carriage, his new chainsword beside him.
Better to conserve my energy, so as to serve with greater vigor, when the need arises.
