"Ma'am, Mr Devan from the Academy has expressed personal vendetta against the invaders for wrecking his school literature repository and has volunteered his services."
Samantha felt her face crinkle into a slight grin for the first time since the invasion had started. She had been wondering how to get the normally pacifist, but overwhelmingly powerful Devan to join the battle; the enemy's unexpected surgical strike on Devan's favourite architectural marvel (and the pride of the whole IEU Architectural Society) had been the masterstroke.
"Good. Ask him what he plans to do."
"He says he's able to take care of the enemy's air supremacy units; however, he needs some help doing so, and after said help it'll be several hours before the effects can be seen, and we'll need to hold out until then."
A detailed report appeared on Samantha's screen, which she scanned quickly - then doubled back.
"Wait, Davis, this is..."
"Yes, ma'am. If I may speak freely, I was pretty darned shocked, too."
A chill ran down her spine - but this was not one of fear; it was of anticipation.
With these four, he won't merely take care of them; it's the end of their air force as we know it.
"Ma'am."
"Ah... Yes?"
"He needs some help first, however. The four summoning keys need to be engaged simultaneously; the one near the Tree, the one on the fourth floor of Erutaretil's Grand Central Library and the one within Technia's Central Processing Building have already been secured and are awaiting release, but the last..."
"... In the Port, yes?"
"Yes, ma'am. Hayate's tea house."
"And our allies in the area?"
"Already asked, ma'am. Said they had recieved instructions to defend the borders only, and refuse to offer help. Only person available is Erutaretil's representative, but she says all she can do is safely fly a strike team in and protect them from aerial attacks; apart from that, nothing else."
"...Alright. Our options?"
"Ms. Bazritz's crew, ma'am. They're at the Borderlands right now. We've got Blitz Regia en route to their location, and two 101st pilots standing by for orders. The 86th's within the perimeter of the Port, but the LZs are hot, so this crew's our safest bet."
"Send orders to the outpost to prepare the flash-refuel tanker and get it off the ground in ten minutes. Scramble the pilots, and inform Blitz Regia of the new arrangements - tell her we're pulling three-o-three."
"And the team?"
"Take whoever wants to go. They're civilians, so we have to respect their rights. If they refuse, we'll fly the 86th in, simple as that."
"Roger." The intercom clicked itself off.
Samantha closed her eyes and sank back into her seat. Apparently, the enemy had recently started launching elemental dragons as part of their aerial campaign in the Orlanian theatre.
...We'll show you the true power of dragons.

MISSON #01 SUMMARY
- Campaign for Aerial Supremacy
All missions will, and have always been, optional. You may choose not to take this mission if you do not wish to.
===========
Objective
Obtain and engage the last key to initiate the summoning of the Four Great Dragons.
Location
Port of New Orlania, Hayate's Teahouse
Allies
- Jennifer Dagwood [122th Air Hawks, VTT-01 T-122F "Blitz Regia"] - Transport
- Matthew [101st Air, NT-05 F-101AD "Fire Fox"] - Aerial Support
- Wilson [101st Air, NT-05 F-101AC "Hot Reflex"] - Aerial Support
- Patchouli Knowledge [Erutaretil, Grand Central Library Librarian, 8th Demon Lord] - Defence
Restrictions
- Patchouli Knowledge is only there to create a wall for the player, and cannot be asked for help in dealing with enemies. She will protect the players from aerial attacks and elemental dragon summons, but the player needs to protect her from close-range physical attacks due to her weak constitution and poor close-combat capabilities.
- Due to the enemy's control of the air, high-altitude aerial moves are highly dangerous and not allowed. Movement is restricted to several metres above the ground.
- Matthew and Wilson can be asked to strafe enemies who prove too hard to handle, but bear in mind their weapons loadout is limited and they cannot be engaged when in battle.
