'Better stay away and attack from afar..'
Sol created tons of swords and started to fling it with telekinesis at the giant bear, whilst trying to come up with a better plan.
'There must be a way...somehow..'

Kirisame Marisa
"Oh, I'm not Miss Sunshine, ze~." Marisa skipped easily, and hopped onto her broom. She soared up into the sky, past the blood red cloud.
"I'm just an ordinary black witch ze~!"
The magic circles suddenly multiplied. The magic power that Marisa was emitting started warping the air around her, and the signature sound of ionization filled the air. Any low-level mage would be instantly crushed by the sheer amount of magic in the surroundings. Seven brilliant balls of light, each the approximate size of an M-1 Abrams, formed around her.
"Concentrate your mind..."
The balls glowed further, each taking on a distinct colour, one for each colour of the rainbow.
"Mutter your spell to the mini-Hakkero tenderly..."
The balls suddenly disappeared, just as quickly as they had come. The octagonal block Marisa held outstretched in her palm started to glow white.
"Aim it at someone you don't like..."
The giant bear was within her sights. The huge red cloud obscured her vision, but an attack like this wasn't exactly a precision attack.
"And unleash your annihiliation of love!"
"Star Sign: DRAGON METEOR!"
Another beam of light. Only this time, twice the diameter of the previous lasers she had fired. Pure light surged into the ground, completely overwhelming the dark magic that corrupted it, cutting a swathe right through the area. Where the light hit the ground, stone turned to ash and sand to glass, rocks thrown from the impact of five ether bottles' worth of magic concentrated into a block 10cm across.
"And THAT-" Marisa shouted, smiling broadly - "is how you spark, ze~!"

Valentine's body crumbled. Her blood, quite literally, boiled.
"AIYEEEEE! I DON'T WANNA PLAY ANY MORE! SEE YA NEXT TIME, SUNSHINE!"
The giant teddy bear disintegrated into smaller pieces. The only thing remaining was the smiling, decapitated head of a little girl, trailing sinews and vertebrae. It giggled, then vanished, too.
-------------
Constantine was in a dark, dark world when he came to his senses. He could not see anything except for darkness. He felt the dark cocoon around him, but his spirits did not react. He sensed no evil intentions from it. Still, something felt odd. His eyes felt strange, as if the darkness was within them instead of around him.
He remembered the bright, blinding burst of light. He remembered that he had been caught in a direct burst of sunlight. Without any eye protection.
He was blinded by the light, apparently. He did not panic, as he was calm. He'd find a way to work around this inconvenience.
All his blood suddenly returned to him as the cocoon vanished. He sat up with a jolt, his movement returned to him. He felt somewhat drained, as if his body had been sucked dry of energy. And he felt Valentine's presence.
"Bro? I'm sorry."
"It's okay. You did your best. I can't see, though."
"NOOOOO! Why? WHY?"
A small amount of blood began to flow from Constantine's eyes. This particular blood radiated black energy as it formed itself into a pair of W-shaped sunglasses. Valentine's presence slowly left.
"Valentine?"
Her voice seemed to come from his glasses.
"I'll be your eyes, bro."
Constantine's vision seemed... different. He could see the usual things he could see with Ultravision, but he could also see other things. He could see glowing lines passing through everything.
"That's new."

"At least I didn't overexert myself for nothing."
The air returned to Tsubasa, now a clear tang of blood.

Can't a moment pass without some new shit hitting the fan in this place?
Ignoring the ongoing disturbances, Venser took a long draught from his hipflask and tried to tune out the chaos around him, drawing upon his inner reserves of concentration in an attempt to discover a form of serendipity despite the adverse circumstances.
The commotion died down, though there was still some residual dark energy lingering outside the teahouse. Well, it was nothing to worry about, unless it tried to attack anyone or anything.

Ah, the new 100th knight. A potential contender for my place; Venser.
He was reserved enough, and wasn't that overly aggressive. Maybe it was a good thing to reissue the challenge against the 90th team again; with Venser too.

'That was...quick...oh well, time to bug Hayate..'
"Hey Hayate, can we have some food over here? And don't take too long, I don't like to wait."
Sol proceed to seat himself at the nearest, still-intact table and waited from the food to arrive.

Constantine's stomach growled. Actually, it roared.
Constantine, you need to replenish your energy! That much mana use drains the body!
"Hey, Hayate? Can I have something to eat? And some tea, too."
He sat down next to Tsubasa, waiting for his food to arrive. Valentine's new form was proving interesting. As he looked at something, a line formed connecting it and his vision. Experimentally, he pointed a finger at a chair. A line appeared from his finger and passed through a point somewhere in the middle of the chair. He moved his finger around, but the line did not go anywhere. It remained anchored at the point.
He decided to try something. He noticed that when he looked at people, a complex network of energy was traced all over their bodies. The place where the lines connected corresponded to their joints and organs. Very interesting.
"I learned this in the Otherworld. Very useful. You can send an intention along any of these lines, but at the level you're at, it won't do much. Go ahead, try to implant a thought in someone's head."
"Valentine? You studied this in the Otherworld? I'm impressed. You really are my little sister, brilliant as always. What's this move called?"
"Painful Intention. You don't have to say it, though. I can read your mind unlike that suit of yours.
Hey, that's not fair, Valentine-sama.
"What? They know you?"
"Yes. I was one of the most brilliant spirit mages in the Otherworld before I came here. I learnt from Aleister Crowley and Faust VII.
"That's why you have dark magic... I see... Let's try."
He sent an intention to Hayate: "Hurry! We're hungry."

What's he trying? Thought modification performed through sources of dark mana usually results in lasting psyche damage to the subject - doesn't he know that?
Realising that Constantine's attempt to manipulate Hayate's mind would probably make him even more airheaded than he already was, Venser set about intervening with the spell. From his extensive study in metamagic, he already knew which pathways of magical energy the spell would travel through before manifesting itself in the corporeal world, and he could immediately identify at least 7 ways in which it could be interfered with, each with their various possible positive and negative repercussions.
Well, when in doubt, go for the simplest solution.
As he traced a simple sigil on the bar counter, he recited the invocation of Occam's Incisive Negation under his breath, disrupting each pathway of magic just enough to throw off any spell that was being cast at the moment. Considering that mental manipulation spells worked on at least 4 different pathways, it was the easiest and most efficient method of interference that he knew of.
I can hardly allow him to go around messing with people's minds, can I? Of course not. That's my job.

How arrogant. I studied with the masters of dark magic. This guy's a rookie compared to me. Still, I'm limited by Constantine's lack of magic skills...
Constantine didn't know it, but his sister did. Someone had messed with his intention. She pinged the guy with a small amount of magic, and received the results. So, he was a mind reader, eh?
I'll just think loud and clear for that guy to hear me. I AM THE DISCIPLE OF THE INVENTOR OF MODERN MAGIC, ALEISTER CROWLEY! I AM THE STUDENT OF THE MASTER OF DARK ARTS, FAUST! I AM THE YOUNGEST DARK MASTER IN THE OTHERWORLD. DO NOT CHALLENGE ME. UNLESS YOU WANT TO PLAY.
To Constantine, she spoke.
"I'm going to have to teach you real magic sometime soon."

A young lady stepped through the doorway, and went to Hayate.
"Hello, Hayate, can I have a green tea please?"
Hayate responded swiftly to her request, even with the three before that he was already preparing.
She stole a sideways glance at Constantine, who was sitting at the counter next to her.
The light reflected off her pink wavy hair, brought out the shadows on the light blue blouse and dark blue pleated skirt she was wearing. She might have passed for an office worker if not for the shockingly pink hair.
"What a nuisance."
The three words she uttered under her breath were soft, yet loud at the same time, calm yet full of fury, and above all, very threatening.

"Eh? Wait-!"
Kamin watched as the boy rapidly sped off in front of her.
"No choice for it, then."
Kamin swept her wings as close to her body as possible in order to maintain lift, and muttered an incantation.
"Ropulso ou Igles."
In the instant after she uttered those three words, light balls formed below her feet.
"IGNITIO!"
The balls flared. Light particles in front of her shot toward her feet, almost like an airfeed that kept turbofan engines going.
Of course, it was a very simple principle. It was an ion drive on crack.
Instantly, Kamin shot off after Yuki, a lance of light in the overcast sky.

"Wha... Did she just make an invisible sadface at me? Oh well, it seems like Marisa's done anyway."
Yuki ground to a halt as he turned his magic off, returning the effects of gravity to normal. At least, that was the original idea, but Newton's First Law of Motion was still in effect, so his body continued flying forward while he dug both of his feet, and later his hands into the ground, only stopping when he crashed into a building.
"Ow... Crap, that hurt."
Yuki dusted the debris off his armour as he sat down, taking a short rest to recover his energy as he watched both the blue ball floating near him and the white lance overhead.
"Hey! Down here!"
He waved at Kamin from where he sat, motioning for the girl to get to the ground. It was silly trying for a conversation composed on yelling anyway.

"Sigh, Milk tea then."
Tsubasa didn't frequent the teahouse, so she didn't know whether Constantine or the young lady frequented enough to have her call him a nuisance.

He pinged me. Or is it she? I'm getting conflicting signals from that guy. It's like there's more than one person in his head. Maybe he's schizophrenic or something. Doesn't really matter. I've got nothing to worry about from non-corporeal entities at this point.
And anyway, he's forgotten one of the cardinal rules of arcane reconaissance.
Don't bullshit a bullshitter.
Virtually all spells rely upon magical channels through which they are cast. Venser, having full knowledge of all possible interactions between all schools of magic (he'd taken a module on it back in the Academy, and his professor had made the class scribe and rescribe each and every one of them endlessly), had seen Constantine's spell coming and reciprocated with a simple morphic cantrip. Intercepting the 'ping', Venser's spell reconfigured itself into an exact copy of it and headed towards Constantine.
Man, he's messed up. Not that I'm one to speak, but still.

A return ping? Let it be. That was to be expected. But this new girl... Who was she?
Valentine was concerned. The girl seemed very threatening and appeared not to like Constantine. She would most likely have to fight again.
Constantine saw the girl, and felt an instinctive shudder. She was dangerous, even more than that sunlight user who'd blasted him earlier.

"Ah."
Kamin flipped in the air, using the light jets to slow herself down, and her wings spread out as far as possible in an effort to increase drag, acting as an airbrake.
"Dispel." The jets disappeared.
Instantly, she began to drop, but just before she hit the ground she gave her wings one last strong flap, and landed lightly on her feet.
"Whew..." Kamin wiped the sweat off her forehead, and looked at the new guy. She pouted.
"You didn't have to run that fast, you know... Marisa doesn't attack people indiscriminately..."
A smile crept across her face as she looked him once over. She extended a hand in greeting.
"I'm Nakara Kamin. Nice to meet you. What's your name?"

Ayasaki Hayate
"Here you go~"
Hayate set down the green tea in front of the lady, and then passed the other orders out. He turned back to the lady.
"So what brings you here today?"
Pink-haired lady
"Ah, nothing much. I have some business with this person over here."
The lady turned to face Constantine. She looked at his glasses.
"...You're overstepping your boundaries. This area specifically disallows intervention from a higher body in educational purposes. You have flouted that very rule, along with a dozen others I can't be bothered to mention."
She narrowed her eyes.
"If you want to continue with this, I WILL KILL YOU. LUCIA VALENTINE."

"I'm not Lucia Valentine. I'm Valentine Ward. You confuse me with someone else. How can you kill the darkness, anyway? Leave me alone, or I'll go get a Guardian."
Valentine was actually scared. But then, she couldn't be killed. Just in case...
"I AM THE DARKNESS. I AM SUPREME. LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Constantine sighed.
"Here we go again."
A dark aura appeared around him.
"Flesh rent, return to thy body. Revive."
The words poured out of his mouth effortlessly, as Valentine commanded him. A large, rotting hunk of mobile muscle appeared out of a pentagram that had inscribed itself.
Constantine blasted a hole in the wall and transformed.
"Iron Angel: Predator"
He flew rapidly away towards the only place where someone potentially powerful enough existed. The Tiger Dojo.

Sierra finally felt herself slowing (thank goodness) and floated aimlessly while waiting for Yuki and Kamin to steady themselves on the ground. Then, while Kamin introduced herself, Sierra took 30 seconds to recompose her vessel.
The air around her glowed, outlining the shape of a young woman and, slowly, she began to materialize again... With clothes on this time, since this recomposition was more carefully controlled.
If you ever get color contacts, go for violet...
... Mana?[/b] The thought flashed through her mind just as her shimmering form began to take shape. But it vanished just as quickly.
Then the Undine collapsed face down on the ground. The nausea she had been experiencing as a spirit was multiplied many times in her physical form.
"D..don't mind me for a while..." Sierra mumbled, trying not to swallow dirt.
"I'm.. Sierra Nark, by the way," She finished, before closing her eyes to rest.
Her previously ice-blue eyes now contained a slight tinge of violet.

Pink-haired lady
"Heh."
The lady looked at the back of the rapidly retreating figure.
"You can run, but you can't hide. You may have mastered the art of modern dark magic, but you do not yet know the theories of the ancient magic."
She walked out the front door. Suddenly, an ancient pentagram appeared beneath her feet.
"I have mastered the ancient arts of magic. I do not fear the Guardians of the Roundtable."
A pair of tremendous pink butterfly wings sprouted from her back.
"Because after all, I am Yuyuko Saigyouji, the Fourth Guardian of the Roundtable. And you must die: Lucia Valentine Ward."
She sped off after the Predator, wings silent in the darkening sky.

Not good at all for Constantine.
Tsubasa wasn't very sure about the grandmaster-leveled mahjong player sporting office uniform going around trying to kill a split-personality.
"Acceleratio!"
Tsubasa flew towards them, just in case. She happened to like meddling much more now.

"Erm... Yeah, she doesn't attack people randomly, but those beams are huge, and I'm pretty fragile. Anyway, I'm Yuki."
He took Kamin's hand and shook it firmly while making an elaborate motion with his free hand and channelling his magic into Sierra, reducing gravity's effect on her, and hence her weight, to nearly zero. He then released the girl's handshake and picked the other girl, (it should be noted that neither of them were actually human,) supporting her entire (nearly non-existent) weight with his hand.
"It never does anyone any good to sleep face down. Anyway, what did you want to talk to me about, Kamin?"
