A large collection of buildings, set below the overhang of a cliff to prevent surprise attacks from behind. A large fortress wall surrounds the perimeter of the large compound, set several dozen kilometres away from New Technia. More buildings are being constructed from small vehicle-like objects, even as a small army of soldiers do their daily march. Two six-storey high robots stand guard over the entrance of the compound. Several small squadrons of drones patrol the perimeter of the compound and the area around it.

"Okay, sir, we're here. I think the Twilight in your suit interfered with your teleportation, though."
"Oof."
Constantine had appeared... upside down.
Clearing his head, he felt a tingle of fear run up his spine. The Empire. It resembled the Eran Empire in most ways, including the motif of the Sun. The Sun motif reminded him of a captured Eran "Deathray", as it was codenamed. The man-portable, rocket launcher-like weapon focused a strong beam of sunlight through a Twilight lens using mirrors, amplifying its frequency and energy. It was able to effortlessly slice through thick armour, although it overheated after a one-second burst.
Hopefully, they wouldn't be going up against such devastating weapons here. However, looking at the six-storey high robots, that was very likely to happen.
A sniper rifle would certainly come in handy at this kind of range.

Yuki looked around the outcrop before turning his attention back to the base. Now that he thought about it, he had no idea what Kamin and Sierra's abilities were, and even more ostensibly, nobody had even told him the names of those two stalkers that were following him around. There was no real way to organise a fight around that, and a bumrush was definitely suicidal against the full might of an army.
Of course, he still had trump cards he could use, but it was not something he wanted to reveal just yet. There was no conclusive proof that the Empire of the Sun was even the one that stole the bomb, and besides, he wanted to do this with his own power. Somebody who had to rely on outside help for every conflict was no hero, and it was not symbol of courage.
"No point going after the giant mechs... We could probably take the drones, but that would alarm the rest of the army... We'll probably have to sneak in..." He muttered to himself, formulating a plan as he watched the movements of the Empire base.

"Don't be bothered by us."
Tsubasa thought aloud to Yuki.
"I'm just an observer; not taking sides... yet. You can't say for the other guy who's totally into it though."
Tsubasa held her confident stance. Making acquaintances, not to mention a friend, had never been simple.

Kamin detached the scope from her sniper, and used it to zoom in on the surrounding region, and the hulking robots that seemed to be at almost every gate there was in the vicinity.
"Hm. There's no way this could take them out..." Kamin said to no one in particular, weighing the slight heft of the S2-AM rifle she had recently purchased.
"Magnetic field interference would be handy, though, if we could use it to sneak through."
Kamin once again looked through the scope, slowly formulating a route even as she scouted the area.

A slight drone in the distance grew louder, even as the sound built up in the Doppler effect as whatever vehicle was producing it approached.
All of a sudden, a squadron of four planes flew overhead, their shape largely resembling the Mitsubishi Zero but slightly different. They continued on a straight flight path, turning every now and then as they followed their patrol route.
Several more took from the ground, literally transforming as the twin tails on their backs swept around to become their wings, and the ground boosters were reangled to serve as thrusters.

((OoC: Video game rips. D:))
Sierra blinked as she quietly took in the scene. No doubt the group would have trouble getting in unseen. From her limited knowledge of mechanics, she was aware that some machines used infrared detection above visual and sound. Temperature control. Visual and sound manipulation. They were some things that micromanaging water could do, though difficult for the number of people currently in the group.
She closed her eyes and held her hands before her, as if accepting an offering. In reality, she was simply reaching out her "senses" to ascertain the water saturation in the air. She was unable to summon rain to the barren land just yet, though that would have helped immensely.
Then, a realization: weren't some machines powered by steam? Or at least, water was needed in the heating and cooling of metal. And even if THAT were outdated (since she had been living for quite a while), the soldiers at least needed a large supply of water. Sierra probed further into the fortress. She realized that the farther she went, the less she was able to feel, but moisture still responded to the Undine.
If I can somehow disrupt the central power core.. This place is impossibly hard to navigate.. and I am too far to control the moisture.[/b]
Sierra's concentration waned, and her hands came up to her face in response to a sudden wave of nausea.
I shouldn't overexert myself, she thought. But she had some idea of the layout now.
"I am able to manipulate all forms of water, though my range does not extend to the interior of the building. If we are not pressed for time, I can also spy.. with my spirit." She told Yuki matter-of-factly, as he seemed to be deep in thought. Strategizing? He did seem to possess that level of intelligence.
"Is there anything you require my assistance with?"
As she asked, she thought of different things she could do, in case Yuki said 'No.' Creating a cover of carefully controlled fog (notably temperature). Shorting out many machines at a time by changing vapor to liquid in the area around them. Ice if needed.
She paused for a moment to consider an ability that she recently unlocked at the dojo: changing her own form into water. If only she could control that...

Yuki watched the Mecha Tengu fly overhead, and grimaced. This was getting even more ridiculous than he had initially thought. Getting past the drones and soldiers in order to sneak into the base was still more or less possible, but there was no way they could get past the cameras overhead on the Tengus. Air superiority was nearly impossible to overcome, which was probably why every army in the multiverse spent far too much money buying fighter jets.
"Forget it. We won't be fighting through them. It's not possible." He concluded, drawing himself to his full height. "I'll go call for negotiations with the bigwigs inside. Sierra, you'll come with me. The rest of you... Do whatever you want."
Reducing his weight to nearly zero with his gravity control, Yuki jumped off the cliff and landed safely at the bottom, and walked as confidently as he possibly could towards the Empire base. One thing he had learned about these places was that as long as he looked as though he belonged, nobody would bother questioning him until he reached the actual security at the gates. Of course, he had plenty of leverage to use once he got there, but what that was would be a secret for now.
The important thing, after all, was to get into the base and find clues that pointed to the bomb. Blowing up crap was not exactly part of that requirement.

He did not answer directly, but he still indicated that he might need her assistance.
Sierra smiled mildly and stepped off the side of the cliff as if the ground continued. She fell, of course, but slowed near the end, having used vapor as a buffer. Indeed, there was a small fog gathering between her and the ground.
Sierra patted her water pouch, filling it to the brim with moisture from the environment, and stumbled to catch up with Yuki. She did wonder what sort of idea he had in mind, but was not worried otherwise. There was just something about not being quite "alive" that took away her fear of death, though pain was another story.
I hope the others will be alright.[/b]

That's because Sierra's going right?
Tsubasa struggled to shake off her thoughts.
"Accleratio."

((OoC: Of course there's a video game rip. This whole damn RP's a rip. It's just bringing all the rips together in a cohesive way. Heck, why not? It's fun and makes for more possibilities.))
"Well, I'll just... stay here." Kamin said.
"Hopefully, it'll all be alright... If not someone has to stay behind to call for help..."
She readied her two sniper rifles and waited. One was standard anti-materiel, and the other had concentrated light energy that would form a defensive lightweb around anything it shot... hopefully.

Instantly, the base quietened slightly. Multiple pairs of eyes turned to watch as the two individuals came down, but no one raised their weapons. A watchful silence descended over the place.
A single pagoda-like structure stood over everything in the centre, surrounded by what seemed to be a round shield of sorts. Grey dust covered the floor around the area, similar to the one that Yuki had seen dropping off the guy. Two large... things stood watch over the entrance gate, which was merely a gate that led to more shield, but seemed to serve a ceremonial purpose and so that people could actually have a proper area to ask for entry. Long polearms glistened in their oversized hands, tipped off with glowing blue blades that hummed with a disconcerting noise not unlike ionizing air.

Hmmm. This looks slightly more than dangerous, don't you agree?
The alter-ego hummed a few thoughts to Tsubasa.
Alot more infact. I guess we're relying on Yuki for the course of action.

Constantine was left behind. But not for long. He couldn't fly without consuming large amounts of energy and being shot down by the dual-purpose units, so he was limited to long range support. But that suited him.
"Kamin, I'll hold off anything that comes this way. You cover the rest. Needle Creation: Glaive."
Constantine's needles rearranged themselves to form a large glaive. The weapon would serve well in melee combat if those things noticed and landed, and his needles would be lethal colliding into anything flying as fast as the "transformers" were.

Kamin and Constantine, however, had not gone unnoticed. When the three had went over the cliff, they had been seen.
Her scope told all.
The Tengus were still flying overhead on their patrol routes, but one could not help but notice the five large vehicles in the centre of the compound with disconcertingly large guns aimed at them.
"They're on to us. Well, no false moves, then. Looks like it's all dependent on Yuki now."

The tension was thick enough to be cut with a knife, and what Yuki would have given for a knife at the moment. Of course, on the other hand, having a blade on hand might have been seen as a sign of hostility and left him riddled with bullet holes rather than walking relatively safely towards the Empire of the Sun base.
The important thing to remember was not to make any sudden moves. It would have been even better if he had a white flag, but that was not strictly necessary for this mission, and thus there was no real reason to waste time scavenging for one. So long as he made it clear that he was not an enemy, not at all, not at this point in time, at least.
Walking up to the gate that for defensive purposes seemed more or less redundant, Yuki raised his hands over his head and looked at the massive robotic suits, and wondered briefly if the pilots inside would be able to hear him speak.
"I would like to speak to an officer please, if that's at all possible."
Of course, if it was not in fact possible, he would simply get inside anyway, causing enough trouble to be tossed into whatever prison they had but not enough to be shot on sight. Of course, that was a delicate balance that was dictated by alert status and customs, but he would have to give it a try if this plan failed.

It's up to Yuki, though I guess we don't want to sound like "Bring me to your ruler". Why not just be seeking political asylum?
Tsubasa just played along though, quietly backing Yuki.

Sierra sensed the atmosphere--thick with anticipation. There was no telling what the soliders guarding the gate would do. She twirled her right pointer finger, and the air suddenly became humid. She actually didn't need to move at all in order for water to move, but it was more of a habit.
She was much closer to the scene now. Vapor crawled in to every opening it could find--around the machines, into the gate, and beyond. Where the moisture could reach, she was in control of it. She could disable everything within a 20 meter radius in an instant, by manipulating the moisture in the air--if it wasn't water or temperature proof, that is. But she chose not to. There was no immediate need. There was no danger. Yet.

Tsubasa could almost grapple with the heightening tension. The threat of an attack was high and there was already prepared retaliation from Sierra.
I might as well imbue myself with magic first.

Constantine decided to do something.
"Iron Dust: Infiltration."
Constantine dispersed a cloud of iron dust over Kamin. The dust would, hopefully, function like chaff and confuse any sensors pointing at her. Then, Constantine activated his Magnet Board. Covering himself in dust to prevent a radar lock or being seen by sensors before doing so, he took off close to the ground and glided towards the bottom of the Empire's base.
At least the big guns wouldn't be able to hit him. He wasn't so sure of the guards, but he figured moving along confidently would be the best plan to avoid suspicion.

Neither unit spoke for a while. Then, they stepped aside.
"Emperor Tatsu will see you."
The shield deactivated partially, creating a small doorway for the party to walk through, into a palace compound on the inside.

Yuki nodded and walked through the hole, knowing full well that once inside, there was going to be no way out. Still, this was the only way he could think of to find the bomb, at least, the only way that was not a road to guaranteed death. Besides, he had to trust that this Emperor Tatsu a man of honour, and would not kill anyone who was no threat to him and his empire. After all, last he heard, bushido was still alive in the Empire of the Rising Sun.
"Well then," he spoke to those behind him as he continued to walk, "try not to say anything stupid, or our heads might roll."
This was going to be a delicate mission, and might even involve a bit of politics. Not exactly his favourite way of dealing with matters, but it was the way most likely to work, and thus he would use it, because there was no way Yuki could allow a world ending bomb to be in the hands of those willing to use one. The age of nuclear diplomacy and promises of mutually assured destruction was long over, and he would die before he would allow it to start again.

Kamin saw the dust cloud dispersing over her area, and knew what Constantine was trying to do.
She smiled bitterly. It was a horrible move to make.
According to the intelligence that New Technia had gathered, (and by golly was there a lot of it) the WaveForce Artillery systems were equipped with state-of-the-art guidance systems, the least of which was a radar powerful enough to jam any opposing radar system in a ten kilometre radius. Besides that, there were aerial sonar and GPS guidance systems, along with some newfangled nanotechnology-related system that no one knew anything about.
The radar alone would already ping right through the dust cloud as though it were nothing.
All the dust cloud would achieve was increased suspicion.
She held her ground, waiting for the rest to finish.

Rematerializing outside the base, Venser could tell, from a cursory examination, that it was very heavily defended - with countermeasures for nearly any type of assault. This meant one of two things: either there was something very important inside it, or whoever had built it was very rich and very paranoid. Perhaps even both.
Why build an outpost as heavily guarded as this out in the middle of nowhere?
You've got me on that one, young sir. Though I do recommend that you be as discreet as possible in your approach - detection is definitely an issue here, from the looks of their reconaissance forces.
Realizing that the base's security wasn't exactly going to be a couple of guards and a locked door, Venser took a moment to formulate a plan for infiltrating the base.
Hm... Doesn't look like it's going to be a cakewalk here.
I don't see why not.
Oh. Right.
Re-entering ethereal form, Venser walked through the nearest section of wall, emerging behind a building. For good measure, he walked through that, too, and wound up inside what looked to be a barracks of some sort, with infantry of various types milling about.
It's as good a place as any, I guess.
Ensuring that he wasn't in view of anyone or anything, he phased back to the physical world, and projected an illusion around himself, causing his appearance to match that of a random soldier. Skimming through the minds of the soldiers, he gathered everything he needed to know about the base, and how to get about it unimpeded. All that remained was to get to somewhere safe, where he could observe the events that would be unfolding - and, if need be, manipulate them to his advantage.
