"Okay, I'm back from the dead."
Constantine had pretty much regained his balance. His body was back to being properly alive. He stared in wonder at many of the weapons. Some of them looked like stuff he'd seen back home, but then again the basic physics of weapons design didn't change much anywhere.
He realised he would need more armour and something with more firepower, to prevent himself from getting cut to pieces again.
Addressing the black man who seemed to be in charge, he inquired, "Sir, is there something I can use to upgrade my armour here? I'd also like something which can deal with an aircraft. Like a minigun. Is that possible?"
"Oh, by the way, I'm Constantine Ward, and I'm with the rest of these guys here."

Sol, after exiting the Dragonfly, followed Constantine and likewise, addressed the man.
"The name's Sol, and I would like some elemental swords..if you happen to have any"
'Right..like any place that's technologically advanced would have anything elemental..'

(OoC: schro decided to ignore me T_T oh well xD)
Kuroi Tsuki observed as the other members of the "random" group stepped out of the Dragonfly that was hovering near the balcony. He loved observing, it was one of the only things he could do alone, yet, without feeling lonely; perhaps he was used to it.
Wow, a beautiful lady with purplish-blue eyes... They look really deep... Sierra..? Nice name... And amazing... Another wing-ed being. A seraph? Hmm, not so sure... And what's with the communist ideologies? Hmm... Another armoured fella, impressive looking indeed... Constantine... Interesting... Woah, another! armoured dude. His armour looks really daunting, yet cool at the same time. Heh... So Sol's his name...
Kuroi Tsuki was quite amazed at the composition of the group. Indeed, just as Hayate had said, it was "random", but there was a definite domination in the number of armoured people, "knights" as he would describe. But well, they all seemed like nice people. Kuroi Tsuki stepped forward. Putting on the most charming smile he could, he said:
"Heya. You all can call me Kuroi Tsuki, or Kuroi for short. It feels great to have more acquaintances in this new environment. The moon is really bright tonight isn't it? Sadly, its gonna be daybreak soon..."
Kuroi Tsuki's words trailed off as he looked up at the moon. A sense of longing somehow tugged at his chest... He remembered... Remembered that painful past...

The mood's almost... wistful.
"Overdose of melancholy."
Tsubasa didn't like gales she didn't control; rigid winds pushing in defiance.
"Kuroi... Black? I see it all the time. That's the only other colour anyway."
The moon's radiance was inexorably monochromatic and reeked of reality. Tsubasa soaked in the cold and let out a sigh.
She was beginning to deviate from her goals.

Constantine hadn't seen this guy around, but he seemed pretty friendly.
"Heya yourself. And it's daybreak already? I must have been out for longer than I thought."
He looked up at the moon. Usually, this was the time the Erans back home would have gone on the offensive. It maximised the time their solar weapons could work.
Constantine had never liked daybreak.

Looking back at the seraph-looking girl, he smiled gently, replying:
"That's the colour of my world currently. Besides the moon being the only pure white object in my sky... And I believe that you haven't told me your name?"
He unbuckled his coat to let the chilly air run pass the insides of the coat. He wouldn't want it to get an odour.
Looking at everyone, there's Kamin, Venser, Yuki, Sierra, the seraph-looking girl, Constantine and Sol present.
"Is there still anyone supposed to be here but isn't? And may I ask, are you all willing to let me journey by your sides?"
He was starting to feel tired, behaving more like a nocturnal animal than a normal human being, at the thought of the hot sun that's about to rise soon.

33rd Knight - Misaka Mikoto
"Uh, sorry to break up your reunion, but the assault's about to begin."
Mikoto had waited patiently by the side as the various greetings passed around, but there was no more time to wait.
"We're over Sixty-Sixth Street of Nasul City now. We should be nearing the base of World Without Boundaries soon - Neumann Base."
Mikoto remarked casually as she flipped a fifty-cent coin in her hands. How she communicated with whoever was providing the information still remained a mystery.
At that moment, all hell broke loose.
Sirens wailed throughout the base - the red beacons that at first had gone completely unnoticed now flashed with unmatched fervour.
{WARNING. ENEMY AERIAL CONTACTS DETECTED. ALL HANDS TO BATTLE STATIONS. REPEAT, ALL HANDS TO BATTLE STATIONS. SECURITY LEVEL: RED ALERT.}
In an instant, the base descended into virtual chaos. The once-orderly lines dissipated into crowded masses, all shouting as they struggled to defend their livelihoods.
{ESTIMATE OF ENEMY NUMBERS: THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY.}
"What?!"
The assault had started. But the first strike was not by them. And it was no laughing matter.
"Quick. Get armed as fast as you can. I'll stay out here and watch the situation. You have five minutes before we drop. Go!" Mikoto shouted to the rest, even as she ran out to the drop point.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Avery Johnson
"So, the attack's started?" Johnson remarked. Instantly, he got up, and started grabbing weapons.
"Well, no time for picking and choosing, people. Just take what I give to you and go."

"Tsubasa. My name's Tsubasa."
Tsubasa didn't really have any idea what sort of weapon she would be handling, but it was pistol-like, just like what she had anticipated.
"Acceleratio."
Tsubasa sped off towards the drop point.

"Heh. They're attacking now huh? Let's get going then." Yuki declared as he started to run towards the drop point, chasing after Tsubasa as best as he could. According to his calculations, he could dash faster than she could fly, but it was not as though he could keep sprinting infinitely, so it probably evened out in the end.
That was of course, if he was not using his ability to reduce his weight. With that ability, there was nobody on the team that could keep up with him if he really wanted to. Including himself of course. He could run faster than he could react with his weight at zero, which was seven kinds of stupid.
"Three hundred seconds to drop..." He muttered, pulling out his nanobots and waiting eagerly, and grinning despite knowing that war was nothing to smile about.

'Ah well, no time for rest I guess?'
Sol approached a nearby window.
'Let's have some..counter shall we?'
He raised his hand in front of him and mutter.
"Infinity Barrage.."
An endless number spears appeared and flew towards the enemy at 12km/h.
(OoC: Basically endless as new spears are being created though only around forty at once)

"Wow. Someone else taking our limelight? Oh well. Let's go people!"
Kuroi Tsuki slung his new WaveForce Katana over his back, having no idea what it really was, and what it could really do. He then slotted into the other ten "Matador" Lightning daggers into the interior of his coat, and tightened the belt.
He was feeling rather nervous. It was his first time participating in an "assault". Such a large scale event was rather nerve wrecking for him. He took a deep breath, and started doing some stretching, while waiting for the others to get ready.
Determination to be useful to the team and increase in his powers shone in his eyes.
I guess I'll just have to know more about my new friends through this battle... And this experience, something not attainable with money...

"Somehow, I have a feeling I know where Sol got that attack."
Let's just prepare, shall we?
"Iaculatio Aeriales..."
Fourty lances emerged out of thin air around Tsubasa, throbbing near-invisibly.

Here we go, then. Let's hope this place is competent enough that even the kids won't get killed.
He followed the rest, moving towards the drop point.
You're not all that far off from them, you know, once you take into account the time -
True, but I doubt I was ever as guileless and innocent as that Kuroi boy, even at his age. Especially at his age.
Ah. Good technique there, bringing up painful memories to make the sordid present look better by comparison.
Don't go there. I've spent enough time meditating on what I did - there's no need to bring it up again. Right now, I live in the present, so that I can bring them back their futures.
At the present moment, he was standing on the drop point with the others, waiting to enter the fray. Focusing briefly, he drew back the residual energies from the wall he'd summoned earlier to recoup his mana, and ready himself for whatever was coming next.
It probably wasn't going to be a cakewalk. Then again, he hadn't expected it to be. He had a purpose here, something worth fighting for, and that gave him determination to push on, disregarding whatever the world threw at him.

Kamin made to follow the rest, carrying her newfound weaponry with her as she made her way toward the drop point.
Once a sniper, always a sniper...
The Barrett weighed heavily in her hands. She knew, however, that the current Barrett wasn't a normal .50 - the weight was at least five pounds heavier. Essentially, it meant that the current Barrett was a NT modified version.
Which means heavy shakalaka. This ought to be good.
The Hammer, she already knew what it was. But that didn't make it any less fun to play with.
I do wonder, though, what those enemies are.

33rd Knight - Misaka Mikoto
"Drop in 240 seconds."
Mikoto went to the nearest information screen, and switched to the cameras that were mounted on the outside of the structure. At least she had to see what kind of enemies they were up against first.
She wished she hadn't looked.
A huge swarm of fighter aircraft were heading toward Dragnea base. A swarm so huge it almost blotted out their view of Neumann Base itself.
Almost every single fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft ever created in the history of humankind were represented for.
How they managed to fly without crashing into each other was something else altogether.
The planes all fired their missiles at once.
Three thousand five hundred and seventy AIM-9 Sidewinders sped toward Dragnea Base. Seventy-four thousand pounds of PBXN-3 plastic explosive sped toward the floating fortress at almost three thousand kilometres per hour. A megastructure that enormous had no chance of avoiding, or surviving, a barrage like that.
Not that it had to.
{NUCLEAR FORCE SHIELDS ACTIVATING IN THREE.}
The air immediately around the base started to shimmer. Some of the missiles instantaneously detonated, but the rest continued to their target.
{NUCLEAR FORCE SHIELDS ACTIVATING IN ONE.}
And at that point, the air stopped.
Literally stopped.
Five missiles managed to make their way inside the base, where they detonated on several buildings.
The rest exploded in mid-air. A spectacular fireworks display plumed around the perimeter of the base.
{NUCLEAR FORCE SHIELDS 99.97% EFFECTIVE. SUPERFICIAL DAMAGE ON BUILDINGS THIRTY-THREE THROUGH THIRTY-FIVE. INITIATING DAMAGE CONTROL SEQUENCE.}
Mikoto heaved a sigh of relief. The missiles had failed to be effective.
That was RT$400 millions' worth of missiles right there. Thank god New Technia decided to research polynuclearisation technology.
The planes were coming around for another pass.
She turned to the small team that was gathered behind her.
"Come on, guys! The drop's delayed for now! We've got to defend this place with all we've got!"
Because she was certain the enemy already knew the weakness behind the seemingly impenetrable force shields.

"Holy crap..."
Kuroi Tsuki was shielding his eyes with his hands. The bright "fireworks" were definitely not pleasant to his eyes. At the very least, he was very grateful that the base had such great technology. Otherwise, all of them would have instantly turned into toast, fully from inside out.
Defend this place? Hmm... Does it mean that enemies would actually be able to enter this base? Oh no... No no no no no...
Kuroi Tsuki pulled out three Matador Lightning daggers, one to be slotted into his right hand glove pocket, and the other two to be held in his hands - forward grip in his left hand, and back grip in his right.
Ready for battle, he stepped forward, looking at Mikoto with the same determined eyes, he questioned:
"Where would be our main point of defence Mikoto?"
He had promised himself, to never let anything he wanted to protect fall apart or die ever again...

That's a fitting opening to this encounter. Not a particularly good omen, I should think, but it could have been worse.
Picking up where Kuroi had left off, he faced Mikoto.
"There's a weakness in this system - can the enemy attack it directly? Can we stop them from doing so, and do all of us need to defend it? Sorry for the prying, but the urgency of the situation demands our immediate response.
If there's something we can do to gain the advantage at this point, we need to take the opportunity now."

"Too much talking and thinking, too little defending. I have nothing against strategies, but don't compromise your immediate survival for it." Yuki told Kuroi and Venser as he drew his hammer-pistol, firing a shot into a group of enemy fighter jets. It was time for action, and the enemy planes were not going to destroy themselves, no matter how preferable that was.
"After all, our enemy is every one of those dots in the distance. We might as well be battling every star in the sky, so let's start now!"
The laser beacon from the hammer got a lock, and a massive beam cut through the sky right into the enemy ranks, exploding in a glorious fireball that simply engulfed any planes that just happened to be near the target. Hammer of Dawn. How could he have forgot, it was the weapon that he had wanted to buy with the money he had initially obtained from selling the nanobots the first time around, and there was no such thing as not enough laser.
"Let's see if I can get another lock." Yuki smiled wryly as he pointed the pistol in the direction of the enemy once more. With that many of them, aiming seems to be secondary to just shooting.

"Now really is the opportune moment to ask, isn't it?"
And we're virtuosos hanging right off the edge of this ecstatic performance I suppose.
Tsubasa maintained the role of an observer. Schizophrenia did really help clear things up with herself. The enemy clearly wanted to overwhelm via a numeric advantage, so taking them all out probably wouldn't be an option. Or so it seemed.
Stalemate/"Stalemate."
"Ignite."
Tsubasa's lances all sparked aflame, and as she hurled her lances she shot a few arcs of lightning across, somehow hoping that the attack from the Lightning Arc MkIII would meld with her own magic.

Constantine looked at the Vulcan. Exactly what he needed.
"Ai, levitate, Vulcan"
The huge gun floated into the air.
"Give me a hands-free trigger on this thing."
The firing stud was covered by a shimmering ball of air.
"Perfect. But I'll need more than just this. Ai, positive charge."
A sparking, glowing metal ring formed around the muzzle of the Vulcan. Any shots fired would be sizzling with positive charge, effectively turning the bullets into lightning-rods. Constantine moved the gun in front of him and squeezed off volley of shots at the nearest group of enemies. The long trail of charged bullets burst forth, arcing towards the fighters.
"Once again, let's see you deal with lightning."

(OOC: operating on the assumption that the shields are either down, or not preventing attacks from within from hitting stuff outside)
When thought becomes a vice, lord save us all.
Mikoto appeared to be lost in thought - perhaps wondering whether to divulge such an important secret to complete strangers.
Oh well. I'll just have to wait for her to make up her mind.
"If we couldn't trust this base's defences to hold off enemies for long enough to protect its weakest point, we'd probably be dead no matter what we did. Besides, do you mean to say that the rest of you are incapable of shooting at them yourselves?
Or are you concerned that we aren't pulling our weight around here?"
Even as he spoke, Venser was watching Tsubasa's lances hurtle towards the enemies. As they neared their targets, he replicated their spell signatures twice, creating an expanding arc of pointy death aimed directly at the formations headed for the base.
Lowering his hand, he casually commented:
"There's no need for undue worry on that front. Just provide a strong enough deterrence until we can secure an advantageous position and move in. As it is, being at the opponent's mercy this high up is far too risky - we need to cover whatever weakness we might have exposed."

"I see your point Yuki... But some people just aren't cut out for really-long-ranged attacks. Unless I sprout wings or something, I cant really be in the sky that high. So I guess I can only support by taking down what's on this ground... Or... Someone be my wings?"
Kuroi Tsuki explained, following with a nod of agreement towards Mikoto as he heard Venser's words.
He knew that it was impossible for him to fling a dagger up so high into the sky. He didn't know the exact height. But taking into consideration the amount of disturbance in the air caused by the planes and the barrier, he highly doubt his daggers would even reach three-quaters the distance to the enemy planes.
Uselessness... Damn this...

I wonder if a typhoon would work at such an altitude.
"Try it in conjunction with the Lightning Arc MKIII"
Turbulent winds starting forming in the midst of enemy lines, sprouting electric arcs and and extending static field. Stronger blades of wind whipped up the lightning, sending bolts awry.
"I could carry you deep in enough for you to attack. However, I only have a hover time of around a minute or so, and that's probably as long as how the typhoon will last as distraction."
Without waiting for an answer, Tsubasa picked Kuroi up.
"Acceleratio."

It began. Somehow, the assault had turned into a full-scale defense of the base. However, defense was something Sierra was skilled at--and she was in favorable terrain.
Running as far out as possible without falling off the airborne base, she observed the movements of her other party members while gathering water around her right arm in a swirling motion of her wrist.
Constantine's lightning caught her attention.
Lead.
The mana-spiked water around her arm dissolved, and joined with the rest of the moisture in the air like a magical web. Strands of the web touched Constantine's lightning and then shot off towards the fighter jets that were zooming about.
Of course, there is water everywhere. You cannot hide.
The magical water that now saturated the skies around Dragnea were perfect for running magical currents through. As well as lightning, of course. Each object in the vicinity was now connected by her web.
Use it well. She projected this thought to the others, as she was now immobile thanks to the concentration required to keep a chain of molecules stuck to each and every aircraft flying around.
