"Good. Let's get started, then. We only need enough illusions to cover those of us who are attacking the transformer, so 3 Valkyries in front of us should do it. The rest of them can stay behind to help you defend the point."
Venser ran his finger over the outlines of the Valkyries, and their appearances were replaced by images of himself, Kamin, and Constantine. Waving his hand over the real Kamin and Constantine (and himself), he made them indistinguishable from any average soldier wandering around the base.
"When we get within range of the transformer, we wait to see how they react to our presence. If they treat us as their own, we use the opportunity to get up close to them and destroy their defense structures. This will make it clear that we're not their men, however, so we'll need to prevent them from attacking us as we do this. Kamin, if you can blind them as we begin our offense, it should give us a clear shot. Time is of the essence in this attack, so go all out on this - use as much mana as you need to take down their structures. I'll reinforce your magic.
If, however, they recognise us as threats, we have to strike early. I'll make a wall in front of us, to stop them from directly attacking, but removing their defense structures is still our priority. In either case, once their structures are down, take out the remaining forces as quickly as possible, and I'll head directly for the transformer, to try and disable it immediately.
Tsubasa, have the Valkyries start running ahead of us, and we'll chase after them."

Tsubasa strung three Valkyries forward as though they were marionettes.

"Sol, before we go, I have something to give you."
Constantine handed over two rolls of red-coloured tape.
"I made this myself (OoC: Sometime ago in the weapons shop, I think). This is flash tape. Once the red layer is removed, it's invisible to the naked eye. String this around the boundary of whatever trap you've set up, and peel off the red layer. Make sure it's facing outside the boundary. The first person that runs into this will get stuck. The outer adhesive layer protects the top layer of the tape, which is a layer of pure sodium over a layer of pure magnesium. When that's peeled off with the guy, the sodium ignites, burning the tape and setting off the thin layer of magnesium within it. It should blind everyone looking at it for at least twenty seconds. It's also non-magical, created from pure scientific work, which means magic resistance has absolutely no effect."
Constantine paused for a while.
"Remember not to look at it. Good luck."

"Affirmative."
Kamin pulled out her Dragunov, and swiftly ran over to where the soldiers were milling about in disarray, wary after their commanding officer had been killed.
"Venser. I need you to confirm what radio frequency they operate on. Scan all military bands for chatter."
She strode purposefully, careful not to come across as being overly anxious. She was, after all, there to see what the commotion was about.

Swallowing one of the mikes left behind by Kuroi, jasper felt a slight tingling sensation in his stomach.
Right-o! I'm ready. Kuroi i'm supposed to meet up with you asap, so i'll be reaching you in a couple of minutes.
Jasper readied himself and jumped into the same draft of Yuki’s anti-gravity cannon, still somewhat far from Kuroi.
My innards are trying to get out of me!
Excited as he was, Jasper still could not get used to the fact that he was flying again, although it wasn’t his first.
Look back, Kuroi! I’m behind you!
Unable to contain his excitement, Jasper let out a loud “whoop”, momentarily forgetting the plan.
This is so fun!
That was when he realised he was travelling at too fast a speed to stop before crashing into the power source, if the anti-gravity cannon did not wear off. Just in case, he activated the defense shield and braced for impact.

World Without Boundaries Elite Ops Team
The warning klaxons within the cockpits sounded ceaselessly.
There were three left. Lautern One plummeted toward the ground, the pilot ejecting after his Typhoon had given out from losing its entire fuselage to the monster floating in the sky.
"Weak! Weak, I tell you! You can't hits mes with just that! Gives me all you've got ze~!"
The black witch still stood on her broom, steam still rising from her Mini-Hakkero. Three hundred magic circles slowly faded in the air.
This person... was on an entire different level.
[Charlie-Delta-Zero-One, mission abort. Mission status upgraded to Level Alpha. Alpha-Alpha-Zero-One is closing on your location, over. Break and return to base, repeat, break and return to base.]
That was the signal.
[Roger, Control. Returning to base.]
Instantly, the three planes turned tail and headed to the ground. The Raptor, the Berkut and the Lightning flew straight down, afterburners burning bright in the slowly brightening sky.
It was still morning. But their trump card had already been brought into play.
They had to eliminate the ones attacking the base.
33rd Knight - Misaka Mikoto
[The airborne Tango-Bogeys are headed for your position, over.]
Mikoto heard the command clearly over the headset embedded within her.
[Roger, recon.]
The team had already formulated a plan, and was preparing to strike the base.
"Hey, Venser."
Mikoto had no problems with working at the jurisdiction of those weaker than her if it meant victory. After all, back home, the only person who could defeat her was a Level 0 ESPer.
"We're here. Anything you need help with, just ask."
Secondary Transformer - Defense Force
The team was in a state of chaos. The commanding officer had been taken out by sniper fire, and the team sniper had been chided for drinking coffee instead of manning the lookout post.
The secondary transformer had long been considered the prime target for attack. For that reason, the defense was particularly strong in the area. Manned WaveForce systems were stronger than Teslas, at any rate.
The now-clear-headed sniper's eyes darted around the surrounding landscape, watching for any enemy snipers.
There were no snipers. But there were three unknown people headed directly for their position. He dropped his binoculars, and raised his sight-adjusted laser-assisted Farsight XR-20 to his eyes. A small smattering of soldiers followed after.
[Alpha-Two to control centre, three tangos approaching from our twelve o' clock position. Friendlies in pursuit of them. Requesting permission to engage.]
[Roger Alpha-Two.]
Did that guy just shimmer...?

"Gravity cannon - cancel!" Yuki yelled as he shut off all his magic, while suspended hundreds of metres into the air. It was difficult to calculate the precise trajectory needed for an anti-gravity cannon that could launch targets anything near vertically after all, so he had just sent himself flying.
"A cannon's gotta shoot a cannonball after all, right?" He joked to himself as he surrounded himself with his nanobots, curling up into a foetal position as he did so. It was the best way to reduce the impact of anything, including long falls, and this was precisely what he was going to do.
Fall a long way.
CANNONBALL! Was what he thought as he plummeted towards the ground, aiming at one of the few guard squads that protected the Propella lake and bumping the hamster/cannonball that his nanobots formed in their general direction.
With his enhanced physique and shielding, there was no way this would hurt the guards less than it hurt him.

Still pretty far away from Yuki, Jasper felt gravity take hold of him again.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
It was a long way to ground, and a couple of soldiers below, none who had any inkling of some "meteorite" hitting them from above.
WHUMP!

Kuroi Tsuki came up right beside Yuki as they were suspended in the air for a moment. He looked down and saw Jasper coming right next to him too, and he gave a little nod. But besides that, he saw something else.
Something that nearly made him wet his pants, puke his innards out and probably even pass out.
Everything else below him on the ground was puny! This altitude... This height... Hypsiphobia took its effect on him.
"Sheeeeeet..." He mumbled to himself as he felt gravity's pull on his start to increase.
He turned to see Yuki "transform" into a cannonball with the help of his nanobots.
That's insane! He would probably be taking as much damage as he deals to anyone...
But before he had time to be concerned over Yuki, he knew he had to solve his own problem as well. How was he to land without a scratch? He didn't have any nanobots right form the start. He had forgotten to pick up the Matador Lightning Daggers from the Base. He had just used up his 3 daggers not long ago. All he had left, was himself, and his WaveForce Katana.
"Oh, holy crap..." He muttered to himself and gave a very explicit "facepalm" expression, just as he was falling down head first right behind Yuki.
A train of thoughts and ideas ran through his mind to find for a solution. Even amidst the panic overflowing his brain, a rather good idea still surfaced. He would have to alter the angle of his fall right at the last moment. Giving him a new direction of force. Which would average out with his initial downward falling force and form a diagonal fall, at the same time, he could take out a guard or two along with it. Who knows, they may even help him to break his fall.
Taking a deep breath of cold air, he readied himself. He curled himself up into a semi-fetal position. His right hand on the handle of his Katana. His coat making loud noises as the air rushed through it, giving him greater air resistance, and slowing down his rate of acceleration towards the ground.
"To land on my feet, I shall grit my teeth. To save my own soul, I'll just have to be bold"
He dropped to about one-quarter of his actual height and beneath his feet, a magic circle formed. He kicked off it horizontally. His coat straightened out, trailing behind him. He drew his Katana and held his beside his right hip and his left hand shielded the wind going into his eyes as he dived diagonally head first into the direction of two guards chatting with each other.
He could almost feel the Katana shaking in excitement as it was about to draw blood.

Taking care to look like an ordinary soldier, Constantine fell into step with Kamin. He sent his thoughts to her.
"Kamin, how exactly should we destroy the transformer. With such great power flowing through it, wouldn't it explode when destroyed? How exactly do you propose to get rid of it without killing us all? I can't possibly ground all that electricity, even if I were to make some sort of lightning rod. If Venser blows the thing up, we might just be dead. Believe me, it isn't nice."

We don't destroy it. We power it down. That'll serve our purposes just as well. By the way, could you try to find out what the frequency of the radio they use is-"
Kamin's mind blanked out temporarily.
She had caught sight of the sniper on the transformer, and the bulbous, ugly dolphin-like stick he was holding. It wasn't pretty, but it was an extremely famous sniper rifle that only existed in legends. It was like the Excalibur of guns.
A Farsight XR-20. A legend among sniper rifles. A gun that could zoom indefinitely, shoot through all forms of obstacles blocking its path, see through walls and generally kill anyone regardless of how well he was hiding.
How did they get their hands on one...? But it's fine. Our guise should hold up for now.Watch out for the sniper on the lookout.

Miss, it would be ideal if you could prevent the three planes that you were fighting from returning to this base, at least until our job here is done. We're trying to finish up as quickly as possible, but please give us some breathing room.
Following Kamin and Constantine, Venser took stock of the ongoing situation. Their body doubles were currently running ahead of them, heading for the soldiers guarding the secondary transformer. As far as he could tell, the enemies had behaved as he'd expected, and recognised the Valkyries as threats.
That's a good sign. Now, we need to proceed as planned, aiming to infiltrate their position. Pretend to open fire on the Valkyries, it'll make our identities as soldiers more believable. The illusion should provide all the smoke and fanfare required.
If we must find a way to deactivate the transformer without destroying it, I'm open to suggestions. Personally, I'd just planned on heading up to it and flipping switches and poking buttons at random, but perhaps a more nuanced approach is required. In either case, we need to kill - or otherwise incapacitate - all soldiers around the transformer before attempting anything, just to be safe.
Kamin, once we get in range, you'll need to blind them and take out their sniper, then unleash as much magical firepower as you can at the turret there. Constantine, aim to take down as many soldiers as you can while they're still blinded. Once that's done, we can figure out some way to deactivate the transformer.

"I love my job."
Constantine raised his rifle and fired several controlled bursts at the Valkyries, taking care miss on purpose while not being obvious that he was doing so.
"Ai, tell those fighters we have the situation under control. Convince them they aren't needed here.[/i]
"Analysing Control's voice samples, acquiring call signs of enemy pilots. Done. Broadcasting to enemy aircraft now."
Ai relayed her message to the three inbound fighters.
"This is Control to Mobius One, Cipher and Gryphus One. We have the situation under control, over. Ground forces are pursuing the intruders now. They pose no significant threat. I repeat, there is no further requirement for air support. Fly Close Air Patrol over Lautern One's last known position until our rescue forces can move in for extraction. We cannot afford to waste valuable pilots like that."
Hopefully, the deception worked.

The radio crackled with the message.
The three fighters did not comply. The callsigns used were notorious, but they were past-Universe callsigns that they were famous for. Now, they were the 1st Team of Charlie-Delta Squadron, and that was their callsign.
[Charlie-Delta-Zero-One, this is Control. Switch signal band to UHF juggle, initiate 128-bit encryption. Sapper detected on VHF-306. Triangulating coordinates... done. AWACs update, coordinates updated to your HUD. Move to engage.]
A small green dot appeared on the radar screens of the three fighters.
[Roger, Control. Moving to engage.]
The three fighter planes turned again, aiming for the single dot on the ground that was Constantine. Three fifth-generation fighters, each capable of taking out over three hundred planes alone, were homing in on a single target.

Yuki groaned as he straightened himself, poking his head out of the hamster ball that was also his absolute defence, making a mental note to get one of these things the next time he got the chance to. Naturally, he did not expect to be given the best equipment the world had to offer for free like this, and he knew somehow that he would have to return everything.
Might as well make full use of it now.
"I think I sprained something. Still, that's better than what you'll have to go through, eh?" Yuki started bantering casually as he threw a straight right into the face of the nearest enemy soldier, sending him flying. While the WaveForce katana was a useful weapon, when push came to shove, Yuki was plain better at brawling than at swordplay, so for now, he was going to stick to his fists.
"Well, time to take out the supply lines. Anybody in any shape to follow?"

Kirisame Marisa
"Attacking the rest? I don't think so ze~!"
Marisa sat back onto the handle of her broom, and readied herself for a three-hundred kilometre per hour descent.
A laser bolt flying past her face stopped her dead in her tracks.
"Eh?"
She turned her head.
Ten new specks appeared on the horizon.
World Without Boundaries Elite Ops Team
[Charlie-Delta-Zero-One, Alpha-Alpha-Zero-One has reached your location. Take out sapper, then return to base, over.]
[Roger that, Control.]
The three fighters readied their missiles. The F-22A's HARM dropped out of its undercarriage, speed down toward the glowing infrared signal that was on the ground. The Berkut's Katyushka missile functioned the same, speeding at blistering speed. Gryphus One didn't bother.
Out of the corner of his eye, Cipher spotted seven planes heading toward the base. The radio crackled to life.
[Alpha-Alpha-Zero-One Eleven through Eighteen, attacking enemies penetrating base, over.]
[Control to Alpha-Alpha-Zero-One, roger that.]
33rd Knight - Misaka Mikoto
Venser had told her to cover them. So she did.
"Missiles - all you need to take them out is an electromagnetic pulse."
Mikoto charged up a small ball in her hand, compressed gyrating lightning that collapsed upon itself. Then, she held it up in the air.
It exploded. The missiles slowed in mid air and started to drop to the ground.
Yuriko stopped them just as they reached the ground, lowering them gently. She turned to Mikoto.
"I have a very bad feeling about these new planes, you know."

"Ai, you used the wrong callsigns!"
"Sorry, I accessed the wrong files. I need an upgrade."
"If you want an upgrade, just say so. Don't get me killed, please. So the plan is screwed to hell?"
"Pretty much."
"Venser, drop the illusion on me. I'll try to get away as fast as possible. Tsubasa, disengage the Valkyrie that has my illusion. Make it seem as if I was the one controlling it."
"Ai, backup movement, balance and sensory data. When I eject I don't want to come back dizzy.[/i]
"Backup complete. Consciousness can now be safely removed."
Constantine took a deep breath.
"Once Venser dispels the illusion and Tsubasa disengages the Valkyrie, activate my Magnet Board and let's see how far we can go before I have to eject."
"Sure."
Constantine didn't relish ejecting again, but at least he wouldn't have so much trouble walking and balancing this time.

Kuroi Tsuki somehow managed to land with some sort of grace.
Both his arms were to his left holding the WaveForce Katana that was humming slightly. He was in a semi-crouching position, shoulders leaning far in of his knees. He could feel it radiating off a slightly delightful emotion.
Blood-thirsty Katana... I suppose... This is what happens to enhanced weapons eh?
Behind him, two guards fell to the ground. They both were cleanly split into half and the blood was slowly soaking up their uniforms and staining the soil. He panted and closed his eyes for a short moment. It has been a while, since he had seen so much blood. He thought that he had become numb to it, but as usual, the smell of the iron from the blood irked him.
He looked around. Yuki was there and had just launched a soldier flying into the sky. Jasper was still lying onto another guard he had "body-slammed" on, yet to pick himself up.
For now, they could easily venture deeper and closer to the energy source - propella. He swung the sword clean of blood and sheathed it. From the guns of the dead soldiers, he retrieved their bayonets and searched their body for any pointy objects.
With that being done, he slid 4 daggers into his coat and arming himself with two in each of his hands, he replied Yuki:
"As ready as you are pal."
Guys! We're in and fine. Gonna enter the place with the energy source now... Keep it up people![/i]
He moved briskly to Yuki's side as he continued observing the surroundings. He eyed the sheathed WaveForce Katana slung over Yuki's shoulder with slight envy. He couldn't bear the temptation of wielding two at once. It was an experience he would not have ever again for a long time to come after this mission...

Tsubasa quickly scanned the handful of possibilities. For one, regrouping meant less of a chance getting fried in mere minutes. But that meant miring the rest of the team.
Since we've pretty much recovered, I guess this might just be ok.
Tsubasa felt resolution overcome apathy. She could feel her schizophrenic other-personality melding into her own. She was acting on her contract with the wind spirits. She couldn't take out the three planes alone, but rather lure them towards the ground for Yuriko and Mikoto to take them out.
"Interception first."
Tsubasa shot blasts of air at the planes.

Recommended Objectives
1. Take out Tesla coils by any means neccessary, to allow Mikoto and Yuriko enough time to enter the base without getting zapped to hell.
2. Find the root of WWB's supply of aircraft, and eliminate it.
3. Find the bomb, and extract it.
Urgent Recommended Objectives
1. Lure the three enemy planes close enough to the ground to allow Yuriko and Mikoto to take them out.
2. Stall the eight enemy planes long enough to allow Marisa to bring in reinforcements.

"Owww, thank god for those nanobots!" Slightly staggering as he was unused to this level of physical strain, Jasper got up unsteadily to his feet. Jasper fought the urge to puke, having seen the squashed soldier that he had crushed. (OOC: YOUMU PANCAKE FTW HAHAH ) Checking that the lightning arc was still securely strapped to his back, Jasper quickly searched the guards' uniforms. Finding nothing of value, he picked up one of their guns, for the extra psychological security they granted. I guess its time to launch our offensiveJasper dashed to where Kuroi and Yuki stood. Not bad, i'm no longer winded now"Whos going to stand in our way? Hopefully not anyone overly powerful..." (ooc: Carillus can we still use magic?)

First Lieutenant Ian Ambrose, Neumann Base Command Hub
Contact had been lost with several guards in Sector 26. Adding to the fact that an elite fighter squadron had just been activated, that meant trouble.
"Patrol squads Alpha, Charlie and Gamma, rendezvous with Emergency Response Team 5 in Sector 19 and head out to Sector 26. Beware, high possibility of at least three armed and dangerous hostiles, fire at will, I repeat, fire at will, Command out."
"Patrol squads Beta and Omega, break off your patrol routes and coordinate with the combined Counter Insurgency Team inbound towards Sector 26. You are to flank and eliminate the enemy, enemy strength estimated at three men. Command out."
Master Sergeant Neville Friedman, Emergency Response Team 5
Neville heard the commands being issued.
"You heard the man, ready up, gentlemen! Wait for Patrol Squads Alpha, Charlie and Gamma to join up with us then let's roll out, double time!"
Troopers bustled about, readying weapons and starting vehicle engines.
Armed and dangerous eh? I'll show them what's armed and dangerous.
A few minutes passed before the patrol squads showed up.
"Alright, people! I guess Command wants us to distract those three hanky pankys while Squads Beta and Omega shoot them in their lily asses! So climb into your tanks, get into formation and move out!"
Climbing into his OT-83AX, the only flame tank in the team, he watched as the others entered the more conventional T-80IXs and other lighter wheeled vehicles while the rest formed into battle formations and marched behind the safety of the armored vehicles.
Corporal Porville Freeman, Patrol Squad Beta
"Roger control."
He turned to his squad. The main squad leader had been injured during a routine training run, and so he had to take over his lead.
"Listen up, we are to coordinate our movements with the combined Counter Insurgency force and Squad Gamma to flank the three hostiles in Sector 26. The main force is moving out now from Sector 19, so let's move up to Sector 28 and spread out. Understood?"
"Yes, Corporal!" Came the reply.
Breaking patrol formation, the squad of 26 men made their way through buildings and the streets.
"Hey, Porville, why do we need such a large force to take out those bogeys?"
"I've no idea, but judging from Command's response, they've got to be commandos or some other."
Slinking through buildings, Squad Beta linked up with Squad Omega, together, they garrisoned several buildings along Sectors 25, 27, 48, and 46, awaiting further information from the Counter Insurgeny force.
All fields of fire covered paths leading out from Sector 26. They had even rigged a couple of grenade traps in some of the narrower alleys that provided greater cover from their fire.
The area was dead silent, there was no radio chatter unless strictly necessary, and every soldier waited with bated breath. A near perfect trap, should the insurgents attempt to run through the main streets, the Counter Insurgency force would run them over, while if they tried to move through the buildings and alleys, they would be caught in confined spaces with roughly 60 well-trained soldiers, armed with shotguns and assault rifles.
Nothing could go wrong now...

Recently... there has been a song running through my head.
The water spirits of the Clouds have accepted your strength. You are worthy of their power.
Is that so.. I believe this power would.. help everyone.
Sierra remembered Venser's comment about how everyone was affected by her influence when she sang to them. If that was true, then her song would also help them gain an advantage in this type of environment.
Rain. It's been a while since it has rained. My favorite weather.
With feelings of affection and long laced in her tone, Sierra began to sing her song. Instantly, the spirits responded, gathering rain clouds where, previously, there had been none.
